Cyrus
I held onto Noble's hand. He was shaking so much. I knew he was scared to see if Grams would pull through and what he would do once he found out who shot at him.
He had been staying out of trouble. Since the stupidity with Dom, Noble hasn't been in any real beef. I was happy that we were finally getting some peace even though I know Dom and Noble's beef is far from over.
I looked over at Isis with sympathy in my eyes. Ken and Lani were supporting her as best as they could. I know how it felt when the situation was on my end and Noble was in a hospital bed. So many questions ran through my mind. I was scared, hurt, and angry and I can imagine Isis feeling those same emotions right now.
"Baby?" I whispered softly as Noble looked up at me. His eyes were so sad and I could literally feel his pain and my own pain all in one. "I love you."
"I love y'all more." He said before resting his head on my belly. I played in his hair and it seemed to calm his nerves as well as my own.
Everyone was here waiting to hear the news for Grams. He had no other family besides us. Ken, Dee, Lani, Mars, Syn, Noble, Tiz, Isis, and myself were all he had and if he left us we would be crushed.
He was a brother to me, to all of us. Grams was always looking out for us and I couldn't leave this hospital without knowing that he was okay.
My phone buzzed and Noble lifted his head from my stomach. I answered it seeing that it was my mother.
"Cy, is Grams okay?" She asked sounding worried as ever. She loves Grams just as much as we all do.
"I don't know yet ma. We're still waiting to hear back from the doctors."
"Cyrus you're pregnant you can't sit there all day stressing yourself. You need to come home."
"Mommy I c—-"
"I'm calling Noble." She said before hanging up and as soon as she did Noble's phone rang. I guess she knew it was no sense in arguing with me because my mind was made up.
"Yeah ma?" He answered as I rolled my eyes before rubbing my belly. "I got you. She don't have a choice. Okay cool. I'll hit you up mama. Bye. I love you too."
"Noble I don't want to leave without seeing if he's okay." I cried. Tears literally ran down my cheek and I knew then that this pregnancy was turning me into a pussy. All I wanted to do was make sure Grams was okay.
"Chill out man." He smacked his teeth before pulling me close.
"What's wrong, sis?" Lani said before walking over.
"They are making me go home. I don't want to be there alone and I want to know if Grams is okay." I said wiping my face with my hands as soon as Mars walked over.
"You not going home alone. Ken and Lani gonna go with you and me and D are going to come check things out over there. We can go get food and some grapes if you want sis." Mars said sweetly. He was only this nice to me when he wanted me to go his way and my fat ass was all ears when he said food and grapes.
"Okay, fine."
"Lose the attitude and give me a kiss." He said as I rolled my eyes but still kissed his lips. They were always so soft and moist and I could literally kiss this man all day no matter how mad he made me at times. "Take care of my girl man."
"That's my sister, pussy." He said. Usually they would have laughed but the mood was too tense at the moment.
Lani held my hand as we exited the hospital. I hopped into the backseat of Dee's car. I leaned on Lani's shoulder as she rubbed my belly. My son was moving around a lot lately and I knew that she could feel it as she smiled at me and I smiled back.
We pulled up at a Chick Fil-A and I smiled inwardly. Dee got all our orders down before pulling into drive thru and ordering our food.
It didn't take long before our food came and we pulled into the supermarket.
"Go pick your shit." Mars said before handing me a twenty dollar bill.
"Attitude." I rolled my eyes before hopping out of the car. Lani and Ken followed suit.
"I'm keeping your man's change too." I told Lani as she shrugged before we entered the store. It was always freezing in here. "It's cold as a bitch in here."
"I see you shaking like a stripper." Ken said as we shared the first laugh of the day.
"You should have thrown some ones at me whore." I teased as we walked throughout the store.
"Imma go find me some snacks since I'm stuck with your ass for the rest of the night. I know Noble cleared out that cabinet of all the good snacks." She said as I nodded. Noble had cleaned out our whole kitchen and replaced all my guilty pleasures with organic shit. It made no difference that shit was just high and nasty.
We searched the aisles before getting what we needed and checking out.
We got back in the car and Mars reached his hand out for his change.
"You be acting broke as fuck." I said slapping his change in his hands.
"Yo, how the fuck I only get three dollars back?" He asked as Dee chuckled pulling off.
"I got a couple of other things." I shrugged as Lani & Ken laughed.
"Better be that organic shit. Let me see so I can tell Noble."
"Snitch ass bitch." I said as he turned around trying to punch me. "Imma tell ma that you tried to hit me pussy boy."
"Can't be nice to Cyrus first I'm a snitch now imma pussy boy. You hard." He laughed.
We all shared a laugh then rode home in silence. Nobody wanted to talk about the current situation. I said silent prayers to myself praying that Grams pulled through.
We made it to my house and hopped out almost simultaneously. Mars let us in as I kicked off my slippers. I changed out of my heels a long time ago. I threw my trash and saved my snacks as they did the same.
We went our separate ways to shower and allowed Ken and Lani full access to my closet to find them clothes to put on. I always kept fresh panties so I gave them a pair as well.
After showering and taking care of the rest of my hygiene I found myself in bed cuddled up with Ken and Lani while Mars and Dee hovered over us.
"We're fine bitches." I said as they laughed.
"You got a smart mouth." Dee teased as I rolled my eyes while rubbing my belly.
"You've known me before today." I shrugged as he shook his head.
"Everything looks good over here. But imma have people keep coming to check on y'all." Mars said as we nodded. He kissed my forehead and kiss Lani on the lips tenderly I smiled wishing Noble was here. I was scared but I couldn't show it. Noble always made me feel protected.
"Hit us if y'all need anything." Dee said before kissing Ken.
Soon, it was Lani, Ken, and I. We sat in silenced cuddled up to each other. Either of us really knowing to say. I laid on Lani's shoulder as she rubbed my belly which soon made me fall asleep even though baby boy was moving around. He always got excited for Lani or Noble.
I slept throughout the night praying for a speedy recovery for Grams.
