Chapter 3 - Back To School Drama

Zion

I groaned and turned around in the bed to face my alarm clock. I hit the off button and threw a pillow over my face. I swear alarm clocks are made to give people heart attacks. I looked over at Shanice and she was still asleep. That girl could sleep through anything! I got the pillow off my face and threw it at her.

"Aye.... what the heck... leave me alone." She groaned and threw the pillow back.

I jumped onto her back and whispered in her ear, "It's time to get up for school sleepy head," I bounced up and down on her back.

"Okay. Okay! Get off of me!," she hollered into a pillow, "I'm first in the shower."

"Whatever. I took a shower last night, or this morning.... How long did we stay up last night?"

"Too long..." She sat up on the bed and held her head.

"Hahaha, your hair looks a mess! Why didn't you wrap it up?

"Shut up, hoe! Go get ready!," she said waving me off and getting out of bed.

"Mad or nah?," I laughed trying my best to imitate the famous viner.

She walked in the bathroom and turned the shower on. I sat at my desk and looked in the mirror. I took off my hair wrap and shook my hair around a little bit to let it cascade past my shoulders. I went into the bags and looked at our outfits we bought. We're gonna look so cute! I put on my clothes then went back to the mirror to put on my make up. By then Shanice was out of the shower.

"What am I gonna wear?," she wined, wobbling to the bed. She fell back with a towel wrapped around herself.

"Umm... the matching outfits we bought Saturday!," I threw the bags of clothes at her.

"Ouch! There are shoes in here! God, I need one more day of Spring Break!", she said running her fingers through her long waves.

"Man, you ain't never lyin'," I said shaking my head. Come on! Get dressed so we can go eat. I think my mom made breakfast."

I walked into the kitchen to see my mom cooking her famous eggs, bacon, cheese and potatoes breakfast burritos.

"Goodmorning, mom!" I kissed her on the cheek then leaned against the counter next to her.

"Goodmorning, baby girl. Where's Shanice?," she said putting the savory mixture into a tortilla shell.

"Her slow self is still getting ready," I frowned.

"Shut up, Zi!" said Shanice, in defense of my insult while walking into the kitchen.

I laughed. That girl hears everything!

"Awww! You guys look so cute! Zion, stand next to Shanice so I can see you girls together," she said turning from our finished burritos to see us.

We stood next to eachother and did a corny pose.

"You guys are adorable! Now, hurry up and eat before you're late," she said handing us the plates with the fat burritos.

Shanice grabbed some Ketchup and hot sauce and we ate in the living room, brushed our teeth, then got into Shanice's car to go to school.

I looked in the mirror to make sure I looked alright. I put on my shoes and left my bedroom.

"Hey son, you're looking sharp, my dad said peering up at me from his phone."
