Chapter 8

Darkness just Darkness everywhere! I felt like I was falling and hitting the ground over and over again. It was cold, I didn't know if it was day or night, I don't even remember where I am! I was looking into a dark tunnel. There was no light it looks endless and no matter how much you tried to get out you found yourself lost all over again

" Hello" I called

"Help!" a cat screeched from inside the dark tunnel, I ran into the tunnel towards the voice! Every way I turned there was beady eyes watching me, the cat kept on howling. I saw the shape of a figure up ahead I stopped,

" Hello?" I shakily whispered

The figure walked towards me

" Beware rats will invade, you will fall into darkness to help a cat. For that cat will pay you back with a clan." It whispered

The figure kept on saying the words over and over again. I stumbled back shivers running down my spine. I felt something touch my tail, I turned around to see dozens of rats! I screched as they flew onto me, their everywhere! I could feel something shaking me, I opened my eyes... Moaning I lifted my head to see Oal staring at me worriedly

" Mint! You're awake at last!" She breathed

"Where am I?" I questioned

" You're in the medicine den"

" Why am I here, and where is my family?"

She didn't answer, and instead walked out of the den. Once she came back, Fern and Stone were following with relief in their eyes.

" We were worried sick that you wouldn't wake up..."

"How long have I been asleep?"

" About two moons. Feather is already training to be a hunter." Stone stated

I looked at Oak with confusion

" What happened" I mewed

" You saved Violet!" Oak squealed

When I heard Violet's name, all the memories came rushing back to me. I could see myself falling from the tree, feeling the agonizing pain when I fell and raced back to camp. Hearing the yowls of Pepper when I fell to the ground. I felt a shiver go down my spine

" where's Feather?..."

" I'm here!" Feather popped her head in purring

She squeezed through Fern and Stone pushing up against me.

" I'm so glad your awake now I won't have to stay alone in the training den!"

A rush of excitement came spilling through my body. I tried to stand up but my legs buckled and I fell down.

" your gonna have to get used to standing" Oak mewed

Disappointed I asked, " how am I supposed to do that?"

" well... you got to lean on a cat's shoulder, and walk around the camp for a bit. It'll take a few days"

" oh ok... Feather would you like to help me?" I questioned

" Of course! I will!" She squealed
