"Favorite food?""Pizza."
"Of course." I shot Sam an offended glare as he laughed.
"Well who's your favorite Avenger?" I asked with a grin.
"Steve."
"Typical." Sam rolled his eyes and ruffled my hair as he leaned back on the couch. "Thanks for doing this." I said quietly "I think my dads like knowing that I'm not going to kill myself at night." Sam smiled sadly and gave me a small hug. "No chick flick moments." I said sternly.
"Don't make me regret showing you Supernatural." I giggled as Sam punched my shoulder playfully. This was our third therapy session and they were actually pretty fun. Sam asked me about the accident, told me that I needed to vent my feelings, and then we watch Supernatural and eat ice cream. So far my panic attacks have been few and far between which was awesome for me. It was nice for Steve and Bucky too, because they got to go out to dinner while we talked. They claimed they didn't want to "disrupt the process." Liars. "So how are the talks going?" Sam asked casually. He had given me the task of talking with Steve and Bucky about the accident at least once a week.
"I hate them." I muttered as I stared at my ice cream "It brings back the memories."
"That's the point." Sam said as he turned to look at me "You're panic attacks are caused by the memories trying to break out because you shove them so far down. By talking about it, there's not as big of an explosion of terror." I thought about this in silence.
"It makes sense." I admitted.
"I know. I said it." I rolled my eyes and smacked his arm. "Ow!" he complained as he grinned at me.
"You know you deserved that."
"Well don't kill me just yet." he said as he turned me to look at him "I want to talk to you about something."
"If you're going to confess your undying love for me, then I'm sorry, I'm way out of your league." he chuckled before getting back to the point.
"I actually wanted to ask how you felt about meeting people your age." I bit my lip nervously "Charlie I think this would be really good for you." he said softly.
"I tried school, it didn't go that well."
"Kids are dicks at school. Don't tell your dads I said that." I giggled and looked at him out of the corner of my eye. "It wouldn't even be that many people." he pressed "There's this one guy back at the Tower who could use a little social interaction and I thought maybe it could be a cool pen pal thing. You two could text and chatsnap or what ever it is kids do these days." I fidgeted nervously before speaking again.
"What's his name, how old is he, and is he a pedophile?"
"Peter Parker, 15, and what the Hell Charlie? No he's not a pedophile."
"Just checking."
"Well why don't we check right now, you want to call him?" I nodded nervously and took a deep breath as Sam face timed this mysterious Peter Parker.
"Hey Mr. Wilson!" A brown haired kid said excitedly as he saw Sam.
"Kid, it's Sam. We've talked about this." I giggled quietly and Peter turned to see me sitting slightly off screen.
"Hi!" he said happily as he waved at me. I awkwardly waved back before staring at the ground timidly.
"Peter this is Charlie. I thought since you both need to talk to people your age, we could do a pen pal sort of thing. What do you think?"
