"Surfing?" Bucky nodded excitedly and I danced around happily as Wanda smiled at my enthusiasm. I'd been wanting to learn how to surf since Steve had brought me here. I mean, one of the main parts of living on a beach is surfing!
"Do you or Steve know how to surf?" Wanda asked in amusement.
"How hard can it be?" Bucky said indifferently.
"Who the hell made surfing so hard?!" I laughed as Bucky popped up from under the water after he wiped out... again.
"You just have to keep your balance!" I called encouragingly from my spot on my board.
"Let's see you try then!" Bucky said indignantly. I took a deep breath as I paddled out further into the ocean and waited for a large wave to roll in. When one did, I smiled and hopped to my feet as I gracefully surfed under the crest of the wave and hopped off at the end.
"Nice job Charlie!" Wanda called as I swam back over. Bucky gave me a high five, even if he was ticked that I'd mastered it on my third try.
"Dad, why don't you try?" I asked eagerly as Steve kissed the top of my head.
"I don't think Папа would let me do anything fun like surfing." he said dryly. Bucky huffed in frustration as glared at Steve.
"It's not my fault you got a concussion and the doctor told you to take it easy!" he exclaimed as he pulled Steve off the surf board and into the water. I giggled as I watched them play fight each other as Wanda helped me onto the surf board and started to push me back out into the ocean. When we were far enough out, she climbed on to the board to sit beside me as the waves gently rocked us up and down.
"You're lucky to have them." she said suddenly "Bucky and Steve, I mean. The three of you really love each other." I turned to see Bucky and Steve kissing each other and I smiled happily.
"Yeah," I said quietly "we really do. We also love you too. You're part of the family now, there's no escape." Wanda chuckled softly and kissed my forehead as I turned to face her.
"So," she started out nervously "Steve said I should ask you something, but I'm really debating if I should."
"What is it?" I asked curiously. She took a deep breath and blurted her question out in one breath.
"Would it be OK if I stayed here permanently?" I didn't even hesitate.
"Yes!" I exclaimed "Why would you even ask?"
"I mean I know we're dating," she mumbled "but I was scared that you would be uncomfortable with it. It's just... it's getting really boring being in the tower with no one to hang out with. Steve and Bucky were cool with it, but I told them I wanted your opinion before deciding."
"Now that you know my answer, what's your decision?" I asked timidly. I really wanted her to stay, but if she was uncomfortable, I couldn't force her to.
"Of course I'm staying." she said with a confused expression "You're OK with it and that's all I wanted to hear. I love being around you and just being here with you."
"I love being around you too." I whispered as I leaned into her. Wanda wrapped an arm around me as we watched Steve and Bucky playing in the ocean. Yeah, I had a pretty good life.
"Come on Girls, it's time for breakfast!" Wanda and I raced downstairs the next morning and sped into the kitchen where Steve and Bucky were waiting. We each grabbed a bowl of cereal and quickly sat down at the table before eating.
