---Flower POV---

I walked closer to the corpse, tranced by everything around me. The beeps cooed in my ears, the smell numbed my nose (and brain probably), the sight drew my curiosity.

I was snapped out by a noise.  The sound of a guard. He was coming. He would kill me.

I ducked behind the girls tank, a moment later, a sickeningly bright light flashed in my eyes. I thought I was caught, but he left like he had seen nothing. Thank you, plot armour. The girls body shook, probably from me shaking the tank. I laughed a bit, but after my trance faded, reality seeped in. Fuck.

I needed to get out. I ran to my window, but the window had been locked, the watchmen's gift probably. The window didn't seem to have any way out, I yanked and pulled on it for at least fifteen minutes before panic settled in. I ran to the door, but it had been sealed tight as a vault. I crawled dejectedly back to the tank, the window didn't even have a dent, and the door was dead. I heard the security team leave, watched them through the window crack. They were gone, that meant I couldn't get caught.

I ran for the door and smashed it with everything that I could pick up.

I didn't leave a damn scratch. The alarms started blaring. The horrid noise and red flashing lights made me dizzy and distorted everything. More and more with each second, I felt like I would vomit.

I ran into the door, but it wasn't the door. I had run into the tank.

---EX POV---

I woke up to the sound of alarms. What the hell was going on?! My head pounded as I tried to look around at the world. It was dark? No scientists were inside either. There was just a girl, as old as me, crying in the floor. I felt pity for her, but the pain pulsed like a second heart, drumming in my ears, and drowning out any emotions I had. I think I screamed. Father wasn't here to numb me. He had rejected me. Why else was I behind so many other tanks, all empty? I pounded my chains on the glass, catching the girls attention.

She stood on my feet with the help of the fluid in my tank and begged her to put me out of my misery. I forced and scratched my throat to form the words, but they only came out as strangled screams. I want to reach her! Let her set me free! My words couldn't claw their way past the canyon of misuse, and I was left with only gurgles and grunts.

She seemed to understand I wanted my freedom, walking over. I gave her a weak smile before falling into an awkward sit against the glass.

I tugged at my chains and made some noise, if father was to abandon me, I would go down burning.

---Flower POV---

I felt horrible. I had thought she was dead. In reality, she was a scared, trapped child. I pressed some buttons, not really knowing what I was doing. She made some noise with her chains, I didn't actually understand what it meant though. I managed to open the door, and drain the liquid. In that order. She looked incredibly disoriented by the sudden change of pressure. She couldn't move like she had while in the liquid, proven to me as to when she tried to stand, and took three minutes. While she tried to stand, I searched for the keys to her chains. After four minutes of searching, I triumphantly shot it into the air.

I walked to her as fast as I could. I was impressed by how she was using the chains to hold herself up for the minute it took me to find the key. The lights and sirens wails had formed a symphony, a symphony for freedom from us. Brought to you by me. I smiled as I undid the chains and pulled out the tubes. I reached for her mask, but she stopped me, putting her weak hands over it.

She fell into my arms and I only then realized it. She was naked. There was no way to take her outside. I looked around the room, but there were only lab coats. She was smaller than me, just reaching my shoulders.

I pulled off her jacket and hoodie. I put the hoodie over her to warm her icy body. I put the jacket back over my now almost bare chest and closed it until it looked normal. The girl looked a little silly, but the hoodie fell down her enough to look like a strange and short dress.

The girl looked around in the entropy, and seemed to fall into a trance similar to what started this mess. She smiled amongst it all, she wasn't tranced, just relieved. She seemed like she was in pain while in the tank, maybe that was why. Whatever the reason, I held her small, shivering, form closer. She pointed at something, I followed her shaky finger to a panel. She seemed to know the combination.

"Tweeeelf......... twenty...... o-o-o-oh fife......nein." She spoke in almost a whisper, and the words sounded like she was choking on them, but I could understand.

"Shh. Okay I understand you, just don't speak. We'll have time for that later." I spoke as calmly as the circumstances would let me, and she nodded in response to my words.

I squeezed her shoulders to reassure her as we walked closer to the door. She looked at me with a pained smile. I typed in the numbers, I felt my heart heave at the dings and the clicks as it opened. I tried to walk with the girl, but she kept having trouble, so I decided to just carry her. Bridal style. She held me as tight as she could to not fall and the two of us slid like snakes back to the house.

I crawled in through my bedroom window, and then pulled the girl up, hoping no one noticed. She collapsed into my arms as soon as I had helped her get in.

"Alright we're home."

Her smile dissipated, replaced with a dreading fear.

---EX POV---

I'm terrified. Not of my rescuer, not of this strange place, or even the icy cold threatening to eat up my insides. I'm terrified of father finding me, and I'm terrified of this girl leaving me. I laughed a bit in my head, I was scared of someone who's name I didn't even know leaving me. I laid down, because my body couldn't handle the effort of sitting anymore. My rescuer laid down next to me, filling me with her warmth.

I forced some words out of my throat, despite its protests. "Hoo awe u?"

She took a second to understand what I had said, before answering me. "My name is Flower White."

"Thaaaank uuuuu." With the last of my strength, I grabbed her and fell asleep in her embrace.

---Flower POV---

What will I do about you? I don't know what I can say, should I get the police involved, or should I not, should I listen to the girl or....

I felt my mind clear as she fell asleep in my hug.

I eventually fell asleep too, but things in my head were still a messy blur.
