"Liam wake up! Flight's today and this cannot be messed up!"
I woke up from the sound of my mom's yell. Today was my first time moving. We were going from Lansing, Michigan to Osaka, Japan, and, to be honest, it is better than Lansing. We can experience a lot of rain and flash floods, but I can't really complain because, if you haven't heard, on March 11th, 2011, a tsunami happened that caused nuclear outbreak and many buildings broke, families cried, and people lost there homes. Sooo...it kinda will be a bit worse.
I got out of bed and changed into casual clothes, jeans and a shirt. I learned Japanese and now I'm immersed into the language. It's pretty much my second language. I've always been interested in Japanese culture and food. Well enough talking, let's talk about what happened.
I ran downstairs and, despite having 3 annoying siblings, I push them around. For breakfast I ate some cereal and drank some apple juice. We had to leave in 20 minutes. So we put our luggages into the car, and drove off into the Capital Region International Airport, code: LAN. We were to arrive there at 9 PM, and I don't like arriving late at places late at night, glad it was Summer. We used Korean Air (I do not know why). We were to stop in Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Seoul Incheon International Airport. It was about a 22 hour flight.
As soon as we got there, we did all the stuff we had to do there:
1. Check in Baggages
2. Get our passes
3. Go through Security
4. Wait for our plane in the airport lounge
5. Get on the plane and settle in.When we got on, I put my bag in the overhead bin, got on the window seat and listened to music. The trip to Detroit was only 45 minutes, wasn't that long. The drink cart came by, along with the breakfast cart. I didn't ask for the food, only for the drinks. It was a bit boring.
We all got down and it was 2 hours until our flight to Incheon. It wasn't that long of a wait. We did the same things as last time. The ride was going to be a long one, so they gave us those TV things they attach to the head of the seats. I got to watch some movies and listen to music. As we neared the end of the flight, they gave us some voucher or something. It was for going into another country. Wasn't really paying attention.
We got off and all I saw were symbols, symbols, and symbols. I didn't learn Korean Hangul, but I do understand some words from K-Pop songs (yes I listen to them). We went through the same things as last time. But as we were boarding, the workers there announced something
They closed the gate and said that the plane going back from Osaka went into the ocean due to the lack of gas. My parents were made, my siblings complained...and I was dumbfounded. We were all led outside and the people we saw at the airport lounge went to there cars and drove home, mad.The only people we knew that lived here is Aunt Kim, Uncle Nick, and my older cousin, Sarah. We called them to come pick us up and explained to them what happened. My uncle, aunt, and cousin lived here for 6 years, and can still speak fluent English. They felt bad and let us stay at a nearby hotel near their house. It was nearing dinner time and ate out with our relatives. We ate bibimbap, one of my favorites. We got home feeling full and stressed. My mom talked to us about moving and that we will try to afford a house here because she doesn't want to go anywhere anymore. She was done.
