I walked into my first period class, being greeted by Dominique. She sat with her legs crossed, out in front of her.

She smiled and waved at me."Hey Jasmine."

I sighed and sat down on the gym floor. "Hi Dominique."

'What's wrong' her eyes asked sensing my frustration.

"A lot has happened this weekend..."

"Jacob," she inquired. I nodded. "Like what?"

"Well first he has a girlfriend," her hand flew over her mouth in astonishment. "But that's not even the worst part. His girlfriend is Lanai."

Her eyes widened. "The one from middle school?" I nodded while she shook her head. "That's sad."

"I know, but the weird part is that he keeps flirting with me," she smiled. "That's not something to smile about."

"Yes it is gurlll" Dominique continued to grin. "He likes you."

I made a face and mumbled, "I wish." She laughed.

"I heard that." I shrugged.

"But for real, he doesn't like me," I said in all seriousness. "I think he's just like that with the people he cares about...Which is kinda confusing to me."

She made a face like 'yeah ok'.

Gym was starting in about 3 minutes and still there was no sign of Jacob. As if I spoke too soon, he came running in, his hair swaying while he did so. And at the door I saw Lanai standing there as if she was watching him. Maybe she was just walking him to class....

Isn't it supposed to be the other way around though... Wait why do I care anyway?

"Sup ugly," I shouted. Jacob flashed me the fakest smile ever and gave me a head nod. What was that? He then looked toward the door and winked at Lanai, making her disappear within the filled hallways of students.

I raised a brow, then laughed it off. Dominique on the other hand didn't take this lightly. She grimaced. "What's his problem?"

"I don't know," I said gazing down at the shiny wooden floor and just then a memory popped up in my head. "Wait his mom did tell him to be home as soon as possible yesterday. Maybe something happened that he's now upest."

I just shrugged, acting like I didn't have one care in the world as to why he was acting like this, even though I knew I did. "Oh well, it's not my problem. "

Dominique continued to frown. "Well he didn't have to take it out on you with his ugly-sexy ass."

I raised a brow as a smirk formed at the sides of mouth. We both started laughing. "Nah, you know I'm just playing with you Jas. Gurl, I got Andre" She looked up, in a daze, her dimple on the side of her face completely visible as she smiled. She sighed dramatically.

"I know." I just shook my head and laughed a little once again at Dominique's comment. She really loves that boy.

"You know how--" She was interrupted by Mrs. Cohen. "Why I always gotta get interrupted, damn," she asked quietly.
