I spend the next week wishing I could take back what I said to Nick.
I walked out of the last class of the day and went to find Zach.
"Hey Zach. How's your gran by the way?" I asked as I reached him with a smile and hooking my arm in his.
"She's okay I guess," he shrugged. I raised an eyebrow. He shrugged again as he walked down to the lunchroom. I followed him. He seemed so distant. Did his gran die?
"What's wrong, Zach?"
"Stop worrying." He sounded almost irritated with me. What's his problem?
Harry's words rushed through my mind. 'I could be better than him'. Could he? Would Harry snap at me?
What am I doing? I can't compare my boyfriend to other guys. I was taken out of my thought by a high-pitched shriek.
"You cluts! You spilt your degusting junk food all over my shirt," Melissa screamed at Macy.
"Just calm down, it was an accident and you walked into her," Greg raised his voice sternly. I was just about to say that.
"It doesn't concern you, wanna-be Blondie," she snapped.
"Are you kidding me? Wanna-be Blondie? That has to be the most pathetic phrase after YOLO," I chuckled, disguising my annoyance. I don't want to start a fight between Melissa and I but Lord help her if she messes with my friends, and my little brother's older brother.
"Really, you're standing up for these losers? I thought you were better then that," she scoffed.
"If I have to be more like you to be 'better then that' I pass. You're actually quite a bitch, Melissa," I said folding my arms.
"Well you know what, Sierra? Here's some reality. You're nothing like me. I'm so much prettier," she smiled. Jamie burst out into sarcastic laughter behind me.
"Oh please, you're talking to Miss California," he chuckled.
"Oh, well did Miss California sleep with her boyfriend last night?" she smirked. I looked at Zach confused.
"But you couldn't have because he was too busy sleeping with the upgrade of you, me." She laughed cruelly. Tears threatened my eyes.
"Is that true?" I asked him. He stayed quite.
"Screw you, Zach. You will never be good enough for me," I spat stomping off. I'm such an idiot.
I jumped in my car slamming the door. I can't believe he said his grandmother was ill. Cruel is exactly what I would say to explain him. A degusting, manipulative, lying, dirty, unforgivable cheat. My eyes stung as I held them open until I reached the house.
I slammed the front door shut and ran up to my room. What was I thinking wasting a good week on him. I grabbed my pillow and cuddled on my bed letting the tears soak into it.
Maybe I did something wrong? Obviously he went for, as Melissa said, 'the upgrade' of me. So maybe I'm not as perfect as everyone thinks. It's grade eight all over again. There is something wrong with me. I don't know what though? Maybe my thighs? Or maybe my teeth aren't straight enough? He could think I'm a spoilt brat, or too much of a slut with the pole dancing at the party. I should have said no to him in the first place. I wouldn't have irritated him these last couple of days so much so he had to sleep with Melissa.
"Sierra, it's Macy. Open up," she ordered. I lifted myself off the bed to see Macy, Snow, Kelly and Nick at the door.
"What are you guys doing here?" I asked, viciously wiping my eyes.
"I bought a couple of movies to cheer you up," Kelly smiled.
"We got pizza," Macy grinned with two boxes under her arm.
"I got you chocolate," Snow smirked, clearly feeling proud of her choice.
"And I got ice-cream," Nick smiled putting his arm over my shoulder. I sighed and leaned my head on his chest facing the others.
"You didn't have to do this just because you feel sorry for me."
"We care about you and we want to make you feel better, Sierra. Now shut up and let's set out everything," Kelly smiled. I chuckled lightly and walked with Nick downstairs. He's one of those people you can expect to always make you feel better.
"I'm sorry about what I said earlier to you. I was wrong and you were right as usual," I chuckled.
"Don't worry about it. I was just trying to look after you," he whispered hugging my waist.
"What movies did you guys get?" I asked as we piled onto our huge couch in front of the TV.
"Well I know you're a fan of Channing Tatum so I got GI Joe, White House Down, The vow and this may be pushing it but... Magic Mike," Kelly chuckled.
"It is. Let's watch White House Down," I chuckled as well as I cuddled up to Nick. She put it in and handed me a piece of pizza. I have to say, I love these people sitting on this couch right now. I smiled throughout the entire movie.
