A Mistake

"Where have you been?" Snow asked smirking as I joined her at our breakfast table. This first month's actually gone surprisingly fast. Mr Dillan has gone back to being my teacher but Miss Jelope is even nastier than before. All our other subjects are taught by my dad.

"I over-slept. I was tired," I muttered.

"Oh shame, you may as well go back to sleep. It's Saturday, sweetheart," Nick smirked. I rolled my eyes and lifted myself up again.

"I'll see you guys at supper," I mumbled before trudging back to my dorm. I fell onto the bed and pulled the pillow to my head. I closed my stinging eyes and tried to fall asleep.

I frowned and opened my eyes again feeling a thick envelope at the foot of the bed between my toes. I snatched it and ripped the seal open.

Dear Sierra
Don't regret going to that school. It's what's best for you and as long as you're happy, I'll be happy.

I've realised how vibrant you make my day though. This last week has been terrible and ultimately boring. School has become a prison and my home has become empty again. My life has quiet literally just stopped since you left. I'm just counting down the days until I can see you again.

I can't think of one moment you haven't been on my mind and I find it depressing I haven't heard your laugh in 168 hours.

The police paid me a visit the other day (the real police this time :] ) and I had to lie to them as usual. It was a narrow escape but at least they're off my back now.

Your mom's been truly caring to me since you left. She offers me clothes and food whenever I am short at the end of the month. She also misses you tons.

I couldn't think of anything else to say to explain how much I miss you, so, as I'm sure you know me well enough to, I recorded a song.

Hey There Delilah (or Sierra) by The Plain White T's

I slipped out a CD which was also in the envelope. I pulled out my laptop and slid it into the drive. A window popped up onto the screen. I pressed play and Harry's stupid grin appeared across the display.

"Hey, babe!" He waved happily.

"So I decided I would show how much I miss you in a song," he muttered, flashing a cheeky grin up at the screen. I laughed and clutched the pillow to my chest.

"Hey there Sierra, what's it like in New York City? I'm a thousand miles away but girl, tonight you look so pretty, yes you do. Times Square can't shine as bright as you. I swear it's true.

Hey there Sierra don't you worry about the distance. I'm right there if you get lonely. Give this song another listen. Close your eyes. Listen to my voice, it's my disguise. I'm by your side.

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

Oh it's what you do to me

What you do to me

Hey there Sierra. I know times are getting hard but just believe me, girl, someday I'll pay the bills with this guitar. We'll have it good. We'll have the life we knew we would. My word is good.

Hey there Sierra, I've got so much left to say. If every simple song I wrote to you would take your breath away, I'd write it all. Even more in love with me you'd fall. We'd have it all.
