Chapter 8

Tavian's P.O.V
I was sitting there, waiting for her to wake up. Emma had arrived a few minutes before, and was waiting with me. She was tired, and was ready to kill something.
"Emma. I know that he deserves to die, but can you please not blow up on her. She has been through enough already." I said lightly.
She relaxed and stood up. I thought she was going to leave, but she walked over to me.
"Tavian. I'm sorry. I shouldn't have been so mean to you." She whispered as she sat down.
She leaned against me, letting all of her stress go.
"I still love you Emma. I wasn't mad, or upset. I completely understood why you did that. Besides, I deserved it." I sighed and chuckled. "I wonder when she is going to wake up."
I nodded indicating Haggard's mate.
"She, has a name. Drew told me her name. I like it as well. It's Amelia. Drew also told me that Amelia rejected Haggard and left. I am assuming that he was getting very aggressive with her. She wouldn't stand for the abuse and even though it hurt like hell to do so, she rejected him." she told me softly.
I was impressed. She got more information from those two, then I could have. I guess that being the good guy was the better option sometimes.
"It's more like, I was tired of being treated like I was weak, so just to spite him, I rejected him. Also, I was tired of being away from my friends. As much as I wanted to stay with him, I couldn't." Amelia said sadly, surprising me and Emma.
"Oh. Sorry. We didn't know that you were awake." I stuttered.
"It's fine. I'm sorry for scaring you. That was not my intention." she said quietly.
"We are fine. Amelia. You are very brave for what you did. I know that it must hurt, and that you feel like a part of you is gone. It will hurt for a bit, but once we get rid of him, you will be free. That is if you haven't been marked by him yet."
Emma said with a voice so soft, and so kind, that I swear, could only come from the moon Goddess herself.
"No. I am not marked. That is why I was able to reject him without him accepting it. I can leave, no strings attached, but until he accepts it, he will still feel the pain."
Her expression became cold and heartless at the thought of being bound to him forever.
"Well that is good. We want him to feel as much pain as possible. Wait. How long have you been a rogue?" I asked her politely.
"Since a couple days after the attack. I have been scared to come here, and also I was sticking around to see what I could discover, so that I could help you."
She said this and looked quite proud of herself. I smiled at her. She risked her life to get information for us, the enemy of her mate, and came here to help us. She is the bravest she-wolf I have ever met.
"Thank you. You are strong, and brave for doing this. I promise that Haggard will suffer. For now, you need rest and proper food and clothes. Follow me. I will take you to your new room here. I have two others, whom you may know, that I also need to get a room for."
At that, Katie and Drew entered the small cell. They smiled weakly at her.
"Hey. Glad to see you are alright. Don't worry. Haggard is a sick and twisted son of a bitch, and we are ready to fight along side these people, our new friends, to take him down."
Amelia smiled warmly at Katie, and stood up. She walked over to hug them both, and was enveloped by not only them, but Emma as well. I chuckled and noticed that Emma was waving her hand at me, beckoning me to join in. I shook my head, but she glared at I caved. As I joined the group hug, I felt something inside me disappear.
"Can I go to my room and give you the information I found, before you guys hug me to death?"
We all stepped back from the hug and chuckled. Of course we were going to kill her with hugs. She was our friend, and she needed as much support as we could give her. Amelia just shook her head amused, and looked at me.
"Um, dream boy. Can I go to my room now?"
"Yeah. Sorry, I was lost in thought. As you three are new and our most important guests at the moment, you will not get a room. You will get a cabin we had built after the failed attack. We had such a big jump in size, that we needed more room. There is two available, and you three get the keys."
I lead them outside and into the woods around the pack house. We walked for about five minutes before we reached the one Katie and Drew would be staying in. I handed Katie the keys and smiled.
"It's all yours. You and Drew go get cleaned up. Spend some time together. You need it, after all that has happened. You were forced to mark each other before you were ready, and in doing so, it was not a full mark, but one to claim and bind. Not to bring you closer, like the mark should do, but to bind you, and keep others from taking you away from each other."
Katie and Drew just nodded. They were starting to cry, and I pushed them towards the door before I started to cry as well. They quickly went inside and closed the door. I was happy that they could finally spend some time together, away from prying eyes, and evil assholes like Haggard.
"Can we keep going, or are you going to stand there all day?"
I chuckled and started walking again. After a few minutes of silence, we reached the other little cabin. I handed Amelia the keys and smiled at her.
"Don't worry. It's safe. Only a select few know about this place. That includes, Emma, the beta, me, and now you. Emma had me build this in case we needed it. I was hesitant to a first, but she told me that it would be best for you to use it. After all, your mate is going to kill you if he finds you. We also have patrols in the area, so you are well protected. The patrols know there is a cabin here, they just don't know where it is exactly. We never told them. Go. I will be back tomorrow. Get some rest, and clean yourself up. We have a big day ahead of us."
With that, I turned to leave. I was stopped by a pair of small, strong arms grabbing me in a hug from behind. It was the best thank you I was going to get at the moment, as the arms let me go and I heard Amelia run into the cabin. I guess I had made her day. I sighed, thinking about all the trouble Haggard was causing.
"Life is brilliant, forever changing, infinitely unpredictable."
I jumped at the voice, and relaxed as I realized it was only Emma.
"Emma, you scared me. How long have you been there?"
"Long enough. What does it matter though? You don't seem to care. I saw what happened. I can't believe I am mates with an ass like you."
I looked at her hurt and confused. Then I realized what she was talking about. I groaned and chuckled.
"Why the fuck are you laughing? Is this funny to you?"
"I'm sorry Emma. It is. Look, you got it all wrong. Amelia was not making any advances on me, nor I on her. She was only giving me a hug, which I'm guessing is her way of saying thank you, for giving her a place to stay, and a caring pack. I guess it is more then what she had with the bastard we are trying to find right now."
The look on her face softened, and she looked away in shame.
"I'm sorry. I guess I just got jealous of her touching you. I will be going now. I will see you at home. Please don't stay out too late."
I chuckled and grabbed her wrist. I pulled her to me and rested my chin in the crook of her neck, inhaling her scent.
"Emma. You are the most beautiful girl on the planet. I will never look at another girl the way I look at you. Please don't be mad at me. You are all I have."
She sighed and looked up at me.
"You better be telling the truth. If you're not, I will castrate you, and make sure that you never see again. Got it?"
I cringed at her words, but nodded my head. If there was one thing I have learned so far, it's that she is a woman of her word. I would rather not be on the receiving end of her brutality.
"I understand love. I shall keep my word. Just please don't castrate me if I do mess up." I said scared.
She chuckled and shook her head.
"No promises. Love you."
She pushed me away, and walked back to the house leaving me standing there, paralyzed by her words, and stuck in my thoughts. She is going to be the thing that breaks me.

Emma's P.O.V
I was feeling like an idiot for assuming that he was cheating on me. I knew that I didn't need to be jealous, but I felt like it needed to be said. He was loving, and he had done nothing to make me think that he would cheat, but I was still hesitant.
"You know. A little lady like you shouldn't be out here by yourself."
I whipped my head around, and saw a group of rogues standing behind me. I glared at the one that spoke.
"What do you plan on doing to me? I'm in my own territory, and I have some hidden things... I guess you could call them powers, that you do not want to see. So leave, or I will make you leave. If I need to make you leave, it won't be pretty, and you won't be able to tell the tale either. I am tired of dealing with people like you. You all think that you can take what you want and get away with it. Guess what. You can't. So leave, or die."
I growled at him. I was not in the mood for any of his crap. Rogues tried to kill the ones I loved, and I was not in the mood to fight them.
"Sorry little lady. No can do. We were sent here to get you. So you will either come along quietly, or we will kill everyone you love."
The rogues were smirking, which irritated me, and from the fact that none of them seemed very confident about that claim, I knew that he was bluffing.
"You know. If that were true, I would definitely come with you, but as your companions don't seem very confident about your words, I know that you are lying about killing my loved ones. I gave you the chance to run. Now you will pay for not taking that opportunity."
The mans face dropped at my words before he got a look of complete fear. I cracked my knuckles before smirking at him.
'Lily. I am giving you the wheel. You have been cooped up for a while. Go have some fun.'
'Thanks. I will make sure no one lives. Should they get a fast death, or a slow agonizing death?'
I thought for a second before answering her.
'I say give the others a quick death, but the leader. He gets a slow agonizing death. Make sure to let one live though. I want him to report back to whomever sent them. Let him lead us to the asshole that sent them. I want to end this before it gets worse.'
'Ok. I will let one live. Should I call Tavian for a scout, or do it myself?'
'No. Tavian can't know about this. We do this ourselves. Now go have some fun before they get away.'
I felt her nod before she took off. I just went to the back of my mind and relaxed. After a few hours Lily let me see what was going on. We were in the forest, and there was only one rogue left. He didn't know we were following him.
'Here. Take control. I had my fun. You get to confront the bad guy that sent them.'
I took back control and kept moving.
