i'm not a huge 4th of july fan, but i cant help but smile when i see how into it colby is. he's wearing a usa flag hoodie and red sunglasses and he looks adorable.
"y/n can we please go watch fireworks? they start soon!" colby pleads.
"yeah, sure. who's coming?" i agree.
"everyone in the house plus the girlfriends and brennen."
i get up from the bed and go change into jean shorts and a red tank top with a white bralette underneath. i straighten my hair and throw on some white converse. that's as festive as i'll get today.
we all pile into the car and head to the beach, where we can watch the fireworks.
once we get there, we set out towels to sit on and get out some drinks.
colby and i sit on a towel with brennen next to us. we all talk and laugh until the fireworks start.
the bright flashes of light fill the sky and i can see in colby's eyes that he's happy. he looks like a little kid.
he catches me staring at him and he picks me up and twirls me around. he plants me on the ground and puts his lips on mine as the fireworks boom in the background.
everyone starts taking pictures of us. once we sit back down on the towel, the fireworks are almost over. i rest my head on his shoulder and he rests his head on my head.
this is perfect.
being surrounded by my best friends with the person i love, it's perfect.
once the fireworks end, we all head home, where we all depart to our rooms. it's late and we're all either tired or drunk. some both.
i check my phone and see an instagram notification saying that colby tagged me in a picture.

colbybrock the fireworks were cool but i see them everyday when i'm with her
a smile appears on my face and i turn to colby and kiss him on the cheek. he's too cute.
