"Nanna, can you get the door! I'm taking my cookies out of the oven!" I say to nanna putting my kitchen mittens on.
I wonder who was at the door. I hope its not the people from next door. I saw them making some cake earlier through our kitchen window and I think they might come offer it to us as a welcoming to the neighborhood and we dont want that.
Its nice of them actually, but no one in the house likes cake, any kind of cake, it would only go to waist. We only tolerate cookies.
It wasn't always like this but ever since I was a little girl I loved baking. Every night my mom and nanna helped me bake a cake and we would have it for breakfast the next morning, so both me and nanna ending up hating it once we had too much.
Just thinking about cake makes my stomach hurt. But anyways, my cookies smell delicious.
"Sweety, can you came into the living room."
I put the tray of chocolate chip cookies on the counter and take of my kitchen mittens.
I walk into a very full living room. a man and a woman maybe in their early forties or late thirties, sitting on one of the new couches.
Next to them is, two identical, cute looking little girls looking at me with huge smiles plastered on their faces.
And finally a talk guy standing behind the couch, probably my age or a bit older. He's very handsome.
"Oh hello, you must be our neighbors. Im Snow, its nice to meet you guys." I say breaking the silence.
"Yes dear, we live in the house right in front. We thought it would be nice to come and introduce ourselves. I hope its no burden." The women says extending her hand out to nanna.
"Oh dont be silly, it's no burden at all. I'm Carrie, pleasure to meet you" nanna says shaking the women's hand.
"Im Anne, this is my husband Philip, my son Nathan and my daughter's Jodi and Tami." she says pointing out every one.
The name suits him. He sort of reminds me of Nathan Scott from my all time favorite Tv show, One tree hill. Handsome, tall, muscular but not too much, dark hair and a killer smile.
"Umm would guys like some cookies, they're fresh out of the oven." I say expecting the girls to say yes.
"That would be lovely" Anne says sitting back down into the couch, looking at her daughters "right girls?"
"Yess! Can we help you?" one of them says while both of them get up.
"Of course" I say leading them to the kitchen.
I open the cabinet and pull out a large teal plate and place the cookies in them. I should probably get them something to drink as well.
"Okay which one is which?" I say turning back and looking at the girls.
"Im Jodi and this is tami" says the girl wearing blue.
"Alright Jodi, can you get the milk jar out of the fridge. And Tami can you take some napkins to the coffee table in the living room please, but come back to help me take cups." I say taking some cups out.
"Okay" they both say at the same time. That's creepy.
I pick up the plate of cookies and hand some cups to Tami when she walked back in. I walk into the living room and here Anne talking about the neighborhood.
"To the left you have the Moore's, and to the right you have Owens family, sweet people they are, all
eight of them" she chuckles.
