The snow falls as the cries of a baby echos through a cold wooden bedroom, the snow softly falling from the sky.
"M'lady it's a girl", a wet nurse says with a grin.
The blonde haired woman smiles and lays her head back, breathing heavily.
"Sigrid Blair", the woman breaths out, "the letter", the woman asks, "the letter give it to her Grandmother and take her", she says her breathing becoming more and more laboured.
"But M'lady", the wet nurse says, "no arguments please, her grandmother wants here and I am bleeding out, this is my time, do not worry about me, stay with the girl, look after her, please Nera", the Auburn haired maid nods quickly and takes the letter slipping it into her dress pocket before wrapping up the small bundle.
Shivani looks over her daughter one last time remembering her small wisps of blond hair, her bright blue eyes that reminded her of the blue of the lights that flash over the sky at night and her pointed ears that she knew would be unique across the wall.
Shivani smiles one last time, allowing her eyes to fall shut in an eternal sleep, "Lia", Nera asks the wet nurse as her eyes tear up, the woman nods, "I will take care of everything, go do what you have to do", Nera nods and heads off, the bundle in her arms quiet as the cold hits them.
The small girl's hand comes up grabbing a snowflake, Nera smiles and pulls her hood up after hopping onto her white Horse, the child resting quietly in her arm as she takes off.
The harsh movements slowly putting the girl to sleep.
Within the green gardens of House Nathair a long blonde haired woman sits, her pointed ears sticking out of her hair that's delicately brushed and neatened.
She looks up from her book as an elleth with long auburn hair, plaited behind her and almost glowing brown eyes walks towards her, her pointed ears showing through her messy but still beautiful hair.
"M'lady, I have a letter from Shivani Blair", the maid announces, her voice soft yet audible.
"Come forward", the soft voice of Vala Nathair asks the girl who bows her head and moves forward swiftly handing the note to the lady, she opens it up.
Lady Valla Nathair
I came to you a few months ago when I first found out I was pregnant with your son's child, as requested I have kept her identity a secret from everyone but Nera, the woman I hope has handed you this letter.
I request that she be the nurse for my daughter who I have called Sigrid Blair, if her fathers happens to find out and request her last name to be changed to Nathair I will gladly allow it.
Lady Valla, I know it isn't in my place to make such a request knowing the problems it could cause your family but I really do hope Aragorn finds out when he comes back from the war, which I hope will have ended by the time you get this.
Tell my daughter I love her, and I am so sorry for leaving her when I know she will need me
-Shivani Blair
Valla looks up to Nera and places the letter in her book before standing and looking at the beautiful child.
"Sigrid", she smiles and takes the girl, "you will be her nurse, yes?", Valla asks the Auburn-haired girl who bows her head.
"It would be an honour, M'lady", Nera says, "just Valla my dear, there is no need for formalities with me".
Nera smiles as she looks to the woman her brown eyes bright and happy.
Valla smiles with her, "let's go show this little one to her father", Valla says, the soft smile still on her face.
Nera bows her head and walks through the gardens with the kind lady who had an eerie feeling to her, the kind that meant she was connected solely with this world and with the nature that flowed around her, the kind that told you she was a magical being, an eternal being.
