So it is finally the wedding day, I sighed, adjusting my sherwani. I don’t know what has gone in dad that he is taking things way too fast, but I can’t say anything because it was my fault that I didn’t tell them about Riddhima’s betrayal before. Well, it wasn’t exactly a betrayal; you can call us, I don’t know, maybe friends with benefits? Because if she was cheating on me, then I too was cheating on her and above all we both knew about each other and still had the relationship thing in us. What exactly you call it? I don’t know. But this way thing becomes way too comfortable. As in you don’t have to give explanations and things go as your wish. No hassles.

And what don’t know too, is that why I am getting a simple court wedding with almost no rituals? And also that why was I not allowed to meet my to-be wife in person? I mean who does that? Its 21st century, for God’s sake. And still even if I had a court wedding, I have to wear a sherwani.

Still, I dress up, no actually deck up and reach the hall and find my mother smiling at me, and she too was decked up. So that means the media was also to arrive, I sighed again. Picking up my pace, I walked down the stairs to my mom “you look handsome”, I smiled. “Where is dad?” she took some time to reply. “He is with your wife. He will bring her to the destination” and before I could speak anything else “Let’s go. We would be late” she dragged me out of the house. And I sighed again.

I was informed that I and Omkara, my to-be husband, were to have a court marriage. I don’t know why but a blush comes on my cheeks whenever I remember his name, a small smile comes on my lips whether I want or not, and frankly I am irritated of it. “You are not” says my mind, okay, I am not. And here I smile again. I was also told to take a knee cap that would help me walk on my own, though not that fast, but yes it will. I was not sure at first, but then Tej uncle forced me to and I had to agree. I am happy that Omkara knows everything about this and is still marrying me. I don’t know how I will ever be able to thank him for something like this that he did to me. It is because of him that I will be able to get a family, and people that I could call mine. I smiled.

“Gauri are you ready?” I heard manager ma’am calling me. “Yes maam” I smiled and went out of my room. As soon as I got out saw Tej uncle smiling at me. “Good morning uncle” I greeted him, meanwhile handling my lehenga too. “Good morning beta” he smiled back. “You look gorgeous young lady” he smiled again making me blush. “Thank you” I answered with a meek voice. “Ready to become Mrs Omkara Singh Oberoi?” he asked and I blushed again, nodding. “Let’s go” he helped me to his car, careful not to hurt me.

We reached the place exactly after fifteen minutes if waiting inside the car. The driver opened the gate as Tej Uncle helped me out of the car. He is so sweet. I smiled thanking him. People around me right now were looking at me in shock, making me even more nervous. I sighed. “Hey, it’s okay beta. You don’t have to be nervous. They are just media” he smiled at me again. “But...” he cuts me “don’t worry, we are there” I smiled at him. It was for the first time ever in my life, that I was told not to worry, that someone said, they are with me. Still, I could feel my palms sweating when the media people covered us as if they were bees and I was a full pot of honey. The guards helped us as we were able to cut the media off.

“Mom thats’s way too late. Where is dad?” I asked her. I know who I wanted to see, wee dad is the one I see daily, so you can guess. “She must be just coming” gocha Omkara. Now die of embarrassment. I sighed as I heard mom laughing slowly, keeping her hand over her mouth. Remind me to kill media someday. So here I am, in the registrar’s office, waiting for her to arrive, with my dad, off course.
