"I didn't know that she was punishing herself like this"- Omkara

After Gauri went for her boutique; well don't ask me how I know it; I decided to finally spend some time with my princess. I was just about to go to her room when "O hello, kahan" I heard Annika. "To... To Anaya" I shrugged. "Oh... so now suddenly I see a father here" she said coldly. I kept quiet and started moving. "Okay, go and meet her. But be down before Gauri gets in. I will call you" I heard Annika sigh. "You know what Omkara..." I paused myself "she has cried a lot... and by a lot means like day and night. She only ate because she knew there is someone who she has to bring to this world. She only lived because she knew there was someone coming" Annika didn't look straight towards me. "She... Gauri started working day and night. She worked herself up so much that I and Shivaay were very, very much worried about her" I heard her.

"But how do you two know her?" I asked her. "I found her on the streets unconscious while I was driving back to work" my eyes widened. "And with Shivaay's help, I took her to the hospital. There we found that she was a month pregnant" I kept listening. "She... she was drenched so much so that the doctors said it was miracle when they found her breathing.... at least" I was just hearing her. "As soon as we told her about her pregnancy, she decided to make herself even tougher and in the process she lost herself amid the harshness of her life. She started her treatment with the doctors about her leg" I didn't know how would I, but I kept on listening.

"Even when she was warned that she might be weak during the treatment and the medicines and all those drugs would affect her harshly, she decided to carry on working as hard as she could. Because she knew there was no one she could be dependent upon. In these two years, Gauri has undergone three knee surgeries and not one she rested after taking the surgeries" she continued. "After Anaya was born, the only time we saw her smiling was when she used to play with Anaya, or when the little girl laughed. For her Anaya is everything. And if you are here to take Anaya back, or claim anything on her daughter, I am warning you Mr Oberoi, dare you again did anything like this" her voice turned harsh. "No... I am to take both of them back. I know I don't deserve her, but I also know that she needs someone to take care of her. She deserves someone who can understand her. And I am ready for it now" I told her with all the confidence I had. "It is what you think Omkara. Gauri is nothing that you used to know. Gauri is no more that girl who used to look up to people to accept her. Gauri now is....." she paused.

"Is what?... come on Annika is what?" I forced her to answer. "Gauri right now, is.... is a... is just a corpse with breath. She has nothing left inside her. She is dead from inside Omkara. She smiles, she laughs, she talks, she listens but she never lives. I don't know what was she before, but after what I saw her with her daughter and only with Anaya, I can tell, that this girl was full of life. But right now, she has nothing like life in her. The only time I see her smiling genuinely is when her princess laughs. She is not living Omkara.... and I hate you for that. I hate you for destroying her life, for destroying her" my heart dropped. I actually have killed her.

I silently moved to Anaya's room and ran to her. "I am sorry bachcha... dada is very, very sorry. Dada is very bad person princess. Maa is suffering because of him. Dada is very bad" I said taking her in my arms. "I am sorry princess" I found my voice choking. "Dada was heartless. Dada was selfish. Dada was one big jerk. He was a very big idiot. I am sorry for that... I am sorry" I said. "Omkara... Omkara.." I heard Annika as I headed out wiping my tears.

"What happened" I asked her as I saw her looking shocked at the television screen. "Ga... Gauri" I looked at the television screen. She was struggling between the reporters. And the worst part was they were asking her all the rubbish questions. "I am going to her. Take care of Anaya" Annika nodded and I left immediately.
