"Bola tha naa, tumhe saath leke hi jaunga" - Omkara

2 months later

Omkara Singh Oberoi

"Anaya, please sit quietly bachcha. How am I supposed to dress you if you keep doing like this" I told my almost two year daughter who was constantly moving while I was struggling with her ribbon. "Nooo.. no..." said she shaking her head. "What no?" I asked kneading my eyebrows at her. "This" she pointed at her hairstyle. I huffed. This is the third time she is telling me this. "Not again Anu. This is the third time. Keep it as it is" I said. "No...." she again shook her head. I sighed. "Okay, but this is the last time. Okay" she nodded. Well that doesn't matter. She had already said it two times.

"Dadaa noooo..." and here it goes again. I huffed. But seriously there was no anger. Sometimes I doubt myself. Am I the same Omkara Singh Oberoi? The one who had his anger at peak all the time? And now this little girl is making me work out the same thing again and again and what am I doing? Just following her orders? Like seriously Omkara, says my mind. Seriously buddy, I replied back.

"Finally ready for the day" I said huffing again. Because you know I have to dress her up again tomorrow. "Dadaa.. godi" she said stretching her arms. "Achcha come" I picked her up and we strolled around the room adjusting her room, which she doesn't used for the time she was born, but still we were adjusting it. I picked up her toy box which had numerous toys and examined it. She had a huge collection as to say. I picked one up and saw a doll with a blue dress "Cinderella" she told me. And as I was still watching it she snatched it from my hand "buri baat" she said. My eyebrows furrowed. And then I heard a voice.

"Cookies anyone" came the voice as we turned towards it. "Maaaaa..." she shouted and moved towards her getting off my arms. "Cookies princess" and she nodded her head. "Please keep it there" said she to the help. Well, it was my plan to keep the help, till the time Gauri again stands on her feet. I wanted it to be forever but then it was her who said no. Women!! I tell you. I went near the cookies and as I was about to pick one up "not for you Mr Oberoi" she snatched the plate. "What do you mean, not for me?" I asked her. But again no answer.

I tell you the reason. Yesterday me and dad were out for a 'boy's hang out' and as usual w drank a little. A little. But God knows where did she and mom got to know and the rest is there. My state is still good whereas dad isn't even allowed to come out of the room. "Achcha suno toh sahi" I try to talk to her. "Bilkul nahi Anaya. Bola naa. I said what I said" she was looking at Anaya as if talking to her. Okay so no talking to me. I nodded my head and headed to her and kissed her cheeks and as usual she didn't reply.

"What does Anaya do when I kiss her cheek?" I asked her. "Anaya kisses" replied my daughter. "Good so what should maa do?" I asked her. "Maa kiss" said she holding Gauri's hand. "Maa should kiss" I looked in her eyes, boring them into hers. "Maa kiss" said Anaya and I smirked. "I should have slapped you instead" she said in a dangerous voice. "As if" I laughed and so did my daughter. "Maa kiss" said Anaya again. And finally she kissed my cheeks. I smiled and I and my daughter high-fived. I saw her face and I laughed more. There was a blush. "Someone is blushing" I said and she eyed me with a you-are-impossible look.

"Is my Anaya ready?" came mom. "Readyyyyy" Anaya shouted. "Okay then... dad- poti day today" mom said taking Anaya in her arms. "Bohot pareshhan kiya aapli poti nein. She made me do her hair six times" I complained. "Shut up. You have to do it. My granddaughter has to look the best. Right Anaya?" mom said looking at Anaya. "Right dadii" she wrapped her arms around mom and hugged her. "And you dare to open the room before two hours. I am not Gauri to forgive my husband this easily on drinking at such an age, when doctors have not allowed" she warned. "It was just a drink mom" and I got a glare. "Anything it was. If I said no then no" she said and moved towards her "take care beta. We will be back soon" Mom said to Gauri. "Alright Maa. Enjoy" she answered. Mom and Anaya went out waving a bye to us.
