Only Exception
You hadn't believed that love was a real thing, not after what happened between your parents when you were younger; what was the point in believing something that wasn't real?
For years you went believing love didn't exist, that the only thing worth believing was there was no such thing as love. That was until you had met him.
Seeing what happened between your parents, you had promised yourself you wouldn't ever love anyone but he had changed everything.
His name was Baekhyun, he looked and acted like a puppy, even his teeth were puppy-like. He had light skin, black hair, dark brown eyes that sparkled with mischief, light pink lips that were always in a smile.
His cute moles that weren't noticeable until you got close, oh and not to forget his eye smile; it was to die for, one eye smile could melt your heart. Baekhyun, his hands were perfect, his fingers were long and thin and perfectly fit in the spaces of your fingers.
Not to mention his personality, he was the funniest person you knew, he always joked around and teased people but he was also caring and loving.
Baekhyun had made you once again believe in love.
It happened so quickly, you weren't aware of when you had developed feelings for him. Over and over you had told yourself you didn't need to love anyone, it wasn't worth the risk but how can you possibly control what you feel? Denial does not change your feelings but only forces you to realise you do, in fact, had strong feelings for Baekhyun.
"I guess he's an exception" you whispered to yourself as you walked to the cafe to meet with him.
It was unusual for you, no matter what you had kept your distance with people, refusing to let anyone get too close but for Baekhyun it was different, he was the type of person who would try his best to get close to you no matter what.
Walking into the cafe you looked around and saw him right away, he was frantically waving at you, "_____!" he loudly said your name with a smile; little things like that were what was making you believe in love.
Slowly you made you way to the table and sat opposite him, not being able to look into his eyes that sparkled with happiness. "What took you so long? I was sat here for 6 years! I swear you're a grandma already, no actually my grandma walks faster than you" he teased while looking at you, the way he spoke made you smile; he had a way of making everyone laugh.
"I was just thinking so I was walking slower" not thinking it through you replied as quickly as you could. Being Baekhyun he was obviously going to ask what you were thinking about.
"Were you thinking about me?"
Not being able to control yourself you looked at him with wide eyes. "You were weren't you! Obviously you were, I'm Byun Baekhyun; how can you not think about me, you love me" he answered his own question full of confidence.
Playing along was all you could do if you didn't want him to know the truth, "Well obviously I was, you're all I think about all day, you're so glorious Byun Baekhyun! Please marry me!" while talking you tried convincing yourself that what you said wasn't what you meant but deep down you knew it was actually true.
Sighing you rolled your eyes. "Don't you want to know why I asked you to meet me?" his tone changed slightly, only raising curiosity,
"I guess" His lips curved into a lopsided nervous smile, Baekhyun cleared his throat as he broke eye contact with you and looked at the table. "I...uh...ahah this is weird, really" his voice wavered as he talked. It was the first time you had seen or heard him so nervous. His nervousness only made you nervous. Quickly your heartbeat increased, it was a whole lot worse for Baekhyun.
Just do it quickly, be a man Byun Baekhyun even his thoughts were teasing. "I like you" he blurted out but it was clear enough for you to hear. Not being able to contain his feelings he covered his face and started laughing, his whole body moved while he laughed, he felt so embarrassed.
Your eyes widened, you forgot how to breathe for a while, he liked you your true feelings took over forcing out a "I like you too" it was quick and breathless.
Stopping his laughter he looked at you in disbelief. He grinned at you.
It was enough to make you start believing in love again. He was the only exception.
