Chapter 5-Explinations

I stare at Mai with wide eyes before looking down at Kaze. There is no possible way she can understand his baby gibberish. I slowly reach out my arms and cradle him my arms. He stares up at me with large brown eyes.

"Hello Kaze." He gurgles in reply and it takes everything I have to not drop him over what happens next.

'Hello daddy.'

My eyes widen and I suddenly can't breath as I stare at my son.

"Mai what's going on?!" I question, cradling Kaze to my chest as I look over at the girl who had birthed my children.

"Oh Kaze is able to communicate with you mind to mind as long as he has physical contact with you. Nothing new. That's not what freaked me out. Go ahead and tell him what you told me sweetie." She explains as she lifts May up into her arms.

Thank you Mai, for telling me.

Gurgles sound and I look back down at Kaze.

'I met Uncle Gene in a dream last night.'

Uncle...Gene?! But that's impossible! Gene's dead! My eyes grow wide and my head snaps up till my eyes lock with Mai's. She nods and I look back down at Kaze.

'What's wrong daddy?'

I clear my throat and then shake my head.

"Nothing Kaze, it just came as a surprise is all." I explain in a soft voice, aware of Mai's eyes on me.

'Daddy?'

I hum in response, suddenly aware that I was gently rocking him back and forth in my arms.

'Mommy's in danger. That's what Uncle Gene told me.'

I freeze and then nod, wondering what could possibly be after her.

'I'm sleepy now daddy, goodnight. I love you.'

I smile softly as he yawns and his eyes shut.

"I love you too Kaze." I whisper before looking up at Mai. My breath catches in my throat. May was on her chest, leaning to where her head was on her shoulder. The baby bag was on the other shoulder and Mai was softly humming a melody, gently swaying with her arms wrapped around my daughter...our daughter.

"Mai." Her eyes snap open and she sighs.

"Let's go." I nod and follow her out to the van.

During the whole trip nothing was said, silence seemed to be the only sound we could make. She pulls into the storage area and stops in front of one of the orange compartments. She pulls out a key and unlocks the padlock before punching a passcode as well.

"That's a lot of security for stuff that isn't yours." I state, trying to trip her up. She just smiles softly.

"Couldn't have the great Naru make me his assistant again because I lost a camera or a T.V." She grins at me over my shoulder and I simply roll my eyes.

"Now go check everything and make sure nothings missing or broken." I sigh and get out of the car, only to stop when May starts crying. I don't know what comes over me but the next thing I know, she's in my arms, I'm rocking back and forth, and for some strange reason quiet coos are coming out of my mouth.

'Click!'

What was that?

I turn my head to see a grinning Mai standing there with a camera. I huff and put the now silent May back in her baby seat and then stalk towards the building to "check" my things.

We arrived back at the office and I get out and start to unbuckle May.

"Hey Naru? Why did you come back anyway?" I still for a second before composing myself.

"I had a bad feeling and the last time that happened my brother was murdered and dumped in a lake." My voice is soft, almost non-existent. I pick May up and head inside, heading straight for the couch and sitting down. Mai follows me with Kaze and sets May down on my other side.

"Mai what are-" She cuts me off by holding up a hand.

"Feeding time! And you get to feed May!" I sigh. Of course I'm not really complaining, May is the calm and quiet one. Mai giggles and then heads for the kitchen, coming back with a bottle in one hand and the other hidden behind her back.

"Stand up and close your eyes, there's something you need before you can actually feed her!" She demands, setting the visible bottle down.

"Why can't I see it before you give it to me?"

"Because it's something you wear and I want it to be a surprise! Normally Monk or John feed her but they're not here so you get too." Another sigh. I seem to be sighing a lot lately. I do as she requested and stand up after making sure the twins won't roll off the couch. My eyes close and I stand there, stiffening when her arms go around my and stay there for a minute. Something warm settles on my chest and then Mai's gone.

"Okay open." I can hear the laughter in her voice so I slowly open my eyes, expecting the worse. The first thing I see is Mai. Her eyes alight with laughter, cheeks flushed, and a hand covering her mouth to keep the laughter in. The next thing I see makes me want to choke the beautiful girl in front if me.

"What the hell is this!?" This happened to be a fake, tie on breast. I poked it to emphasize my point. She busts out laughing and falls to the ground clutching her stomach. I grit my teeth and clench my fists.

"Explanation. Now." I growl out as she stops laughing and looks up at me with a smile on her face. She stands up and walks around me to pick up Kaze.

"May won't drink from just a bottle so you have to put the bottle in the fake breast and it looks like she's breast feeding so she'll eat. If you didn't use the fake breast she'd starve and die..." Not so angry anymore.

"Okay...but why can't you feed her?"

"Because it's hard to wear a fake breast on too of the real one." She deadpans and I sigh, I'm screwed.

"Fine now how do I do this?"

Hey! So yeah short chapter but I really didn't know where to take this chapter so I gave it a funny yet realistic ending! XD hehe I rather enjoyed writing it so I hope you like reading it! Let me know what you guys think please!!!
