being part of the hunting team was hard, without you the camp would starve so there was a lot of pressure in the back of your mind. you were chosen to be in the hunting team as a result of your advanced knife skills you had developed on the ark. you were by far the most skilled in the camp, you had even bet murphy in a knife fight when he tried to order you around. needless to say he left with more then just a bruised ego that day.
the only person who wasn't happy about your place on the hunting team was bellamy blake, for reasons unknown to you he had protected you since the day the drop ship had landed. he was constantly checking up on you and was very overprotective. you weren't sure why he behaved this way but you weren't complaining, you couldn't deny that he was extremely attractive and not to mention he had a softer side to his supposed stone cold exterior. but the only people who knew of this side were you and octavia, obviously.
the camp was once again running low on stock and people were quickly getting hungry, a hunting team had to be sent out as soon as possible. you were eager to go as you hadn't stepped outside the walls since the last time you had gone hunting and was almost was hurt by an angry grounder. since then bellamy had made sure there was no way for you to leave the camp, he even had people take extra watch shifts so you didn't sneak out on your own.
the hunting trip required every hunter to go, this included you. you were gearing up to outside the camp by choosing your favourite throwing knifes and shrugging an oversized jacket over your shoulders.
laughing with a few of the other hunters as you make your way towards the man made gate of the camp you paid no attention to the angry bellamy that was waiting by the exit. you didn't notice him as you were walking past but quickly became aware of him when he yanked you back into the camp by your upper arm. his face was close to yours, close enough that you could feel his warm breath fanning over your face. as good as he looked right now he looked anything but happy.
'and where the hell do you think you're going?'
you rolled your eyes and pulled your arm from his grasp, now standing up to your full height you still didn't reach bellamy as he towered over you.
'i'm going hunting, what does it look like?'
turning your body around so you could resume out the gate and join the rest of the group you felt yourself being turned around yet again. bellamy looked you in the eyes with his hands resting on your shoulders,
'do you remember what happened the last time you went hunting? you almost got hurt and i can't help but feel responsible for that because i wasn't there to protect you-'
'bellamy it wasn't your fault' you interjected.
he sighed and dropped his head,
'i was worry about you okay and i can't help it. i know i can't stop you from going but just be safe okay? just be safe for me, it would absolutely kill me if i had to be the one to bury your body.'
sadness laced his voice at the last sentence of his speech, pushing his head back up with your hand so he could look you in the eye you reassured him as best you could.
'i promise that i'll be extra cautious out there bellamy, i won't get into any dangerous situations and if anything happens i'll come straight back.'
'okay, you better catch up with the rest of the team before you get left behind. be safe and be smart, i know what you're like and if anything happens remember your safety comes first, don't try and save anyone if there's no chance of saving them'
