Secret admirer

A year later

     Valentine’s Day. The day were two mystery beings accidently set up me and Josh. How great that our anniversary is on such a romantic day. It feels like yesterday that I was eating ice cream with Josh after the both of us had been stood up.
 
     The day started out normal. My obnoxious alarm clock, my terrible bed head, and my beautiful undereye bags. I changed into my favorite Panic! At the Disco t-shirt, a pair of skinny jeans, and black converse. If you hadn’t noticed, I have a style. The pancakes and bacon were great, though I didn’t really taste them. I couldn’t find Josh’s present!

    His present consisted of two thornless roses, his favorite hair gel, and some general Valentine’s Day candy. I really need to find that gift.

    There it is! On my bed, under my backpack.

    As I headed to school I started feeling butterflies. I wasn’t nervous he wouldn’t like my present to him, I just have bad memories of this day. So many times the memory of Lucas was streaming in my head. I started thinking of how Morgan had kissed him. I never liked that girl, you know.

    When I got to school, I headed to Josh’s locker. Now I was excited. I wanted to see him so bad. As I turned the corner I saw Josh and Morgan, kissing at his locker. This time I just froze. I didn’t drop the gift. I didn’t start crying. All I could do was stare. Stare and stare at my heart being crushed for the second time. Stare at the person who said he’d never hurt me kiss another girl, for the second time. Stare at my trust crumble, for the second time.

    As I stood there Josh pushed Morgan away. That’s when he noticed me standing there. He started towards me and all I could do was step back and keep staring. I wasn’t staring at Josh, or the present in his hand I assumed was for me. I couldn’t take my eyes away from Morgan. How that smile on her face was full of malice. How she flipped her hair and walked away. And how her purse was overflowing with thornless roses and purple handwritten notes.
