I woke up in my bed the next day. I don't remember ever making my way to the bed. Oh well, at least I had an alright sleep that night. I looked at the clock on the bedside table to my left. I can't believe that I'm still sleeping on my side of the bed when Emma's not even here with me any more. I guess I'll learn to adjust.

It was 9:30am. I sighed; I was supposed to go to rehearsals for the ‘On The Road Tour’ at 10:15am. I rolled back onto the bed and tried to stay awake. I managed to do that and got out of bed. I was still wearing my clothes from last night. My luggage was still next to the door.

I took my clothes out of the bags and shoved them all in my drawers. I wasn't that great on folding so half of my clothes were crinkled in the drawers. Emma usually got mad at me for not folding them properly so she took out all the clothes and made me fold them again. That plan always turned out to be a fail because I would try to get out of the job by distracting her from reading her books. After that, we'd make a deal that I'd cook dinner that night and she'd fold the clothes. Sooner or later, every Sunday night became my cooking day since the laundry was always done that day.

After shoving all my clothes in my drawers, I made my way to the bathroom to get cleaned up. I brushed my teeth and ruffled my hair. I didn't really know how to fix that mess. Some of Emma's belongings were still left on the bathroom sink. I left it alone, not wanting to touch her stuff at that moment.

I changed my black shirt to a white singlet and wrapped my brown leather jacket around me. I didn't bother changing my jeans because I wasn't bothered and I didn't have enough time to change. I was already running 10 minutes behind schedule.

I looked around the room to see if I'd forgotten anything. I winced at the state of my clothes in the drawers. Some of them were stuck out at odd angles as they wouldn't fit inside the shelf. I swear, Emma probably uses a wand or something to get those clothes to fit inside the shelf.

'Never mind that' I thought to myself. I shoved my phone and my wallet in the pockets of my jackets. As I made my why out, I grabbed the keys and a banana to go. I was hoping that the banana wasn't too rotten.

I locked the door and walked to the elevator. The doors opened and I stepped inside. I started peeling the banana. Every so often, the elevator would stop at a floor. I greeted them all with a polite "Good morning".

Mrs Manson came in the elevator today and I said "Hi Mrs Manson!"

"Oh Harry!" she gushed. Mrs Manson had become one of mine and Emma's good friends in the apartment building. We were really fond of her. Mrs Manson actually invited us to her apartment. She was an elderly woman who lived only with her husband but her children and grandchildren visited her regularly.

"Where's Emma?"

I faltered for a minute but regained my balance. "She's not here"

"Why's that? Whenever you're here, Emma would be here I'm pretty sure" Mrs Manson questioned.

"Yeah about that... we broke it off"

I could see how much that news broke her heart. "Oh but you were such a lovely couple! Harry my dear, what happened? I was anticipating a wedding by the end of the year" she joked.

A smile snuck in at the corners of my mouth. "I assure you that if we were to have a wedding, you'd be the first to know. And as for what happened... well she caught me kissing someone else"

The mood immediately changed. The smile that was on Mrs Manson's face immediately dropped and she started scowling at me. "Well it serves you right! Honestly, why you would look at someone else that isn't Emma is a question to ponder! The two of you were inseparable and hopelessly in love! Gave this building a little youth! But Harry, why would you kiss someone else?"
