I let a tear roll down my cheek as I said, "It stands for 'Different.'" Everyone was just looking at me. Surprise in their eyes about what they had just heard. And out of no where, everyone started crying. Except for Saiki and Nendo. I'm pretty sure Nendo was a bit confused. Teruhashi, Yumehara And Mera were all leaning against my bed and started hugging me, avoiding my arm of course. Kaidou looked away and silently cried to himself trying to make himself look tougher. And Hairo was just cried into his arm. Not afraid to show his feelings. It made me upset to see my friends crying over me. "H-hey guys. You really don't have to cry over me. Please don't worry." I sniffled, still letting myself cry. They all shook their heads while Hairo said, "Why wouldn't we be worried?! Your our friend and we all care!"
More tears came from my eyes. I was so happy. For all my life, people don't care or acknowledge me because I was, and still am different. Like my looks, my accent, and my personality. And obviously some people seem to show I'm different by acting vulgar and leaving a mark that can't ever go away. But, others take that difference and turn it into more ways to love. These guys care about me so much. I'm so glad I've finally found people who care, and people who I know will stick with me.
I got another hug from Mera while she was still crying. And I hugged back. It felt nice to hug someone. You know? Especially when you know you mean something to them. And it was actually kind of weird. This was the first time I've ever seen Mera without food in her mouth. I got a bunch of other hugs, all of them I returned. Until that moment came where the nurse stated, "Ok you guys. It's lunch time! I would like to ask if one of you can bring (L.N) some food while the others go to lunch." After she said that, Nendo instantly raised his hand while exclaiming, "I will! I'll get new buddy some food!" Kaidou turned to Nendo and asked, "Are you able to handle it?" Nendo furiously nodded his head and replied with, "Of course I can!" They all shrugged their shoulders and said their goodbyes before exiting the room saying, "See you later!" And, "Feel better!" While I just laid down, waiting for my food to arrive. Because all I had that morning was a friggin apple!!!
Saiki's POV
We had just left from the nurse's office and the rest of them were already talking about (L.N)'s ... scar. It's sad but no matter how much she wants it gone, it's a scar, and it can't ever go away. And for that, I feel bad. It must have been a truly frightening experience. And every time she looks at her arm, she has to remember it.Nendo has already ran ahead to the cafeteria to get (L.N) the food she had requested. The rest of us sat down at a table when I got a disturbing feeling. The presence of someone we all despised was in this cafeteria. The problem was however, I had no idea who it was. Until a certain person's thoughts came into my mind. 'I wonder what that (L.N) is going to do about her scar. But she was getting to comfortable here. She needed to know her place.' I looked behind me to reveal a female student sitting with two male students at the table next to us. She had very dark and long purple hair and a lot of makeup on. Her eyes were blue along with her many bracelets. She looked like the Japanese version of that popular mean girl in a lot of schools. The type to think that they're better than everyone. And I believe that I've heard of her. Her name was Kana. Those were her thoughts. So she was the one who had harassed (L.N). Luckily, I have psychic powers. So against her will, I forced her to re-say what she had just thought out loud. Making everyone at my table able to hear it.
We all turned to her. Everyone except me, of course, had furious looks on their faces. She noticed us looking at her and decided to turn around and in a snotty tone asked, "What do you want?" Then, Kaidou surprisingly was the one to ask, "You were the one who hurt (L.N) weren't you?!" And I'm saying it was surprising for him to say that because he was normally shy in situations like this. It shows how much he must care. She smirked evilly and replied in a darker version of her previous tone, "So what if I was?" All of their expressions deepened into full on rage as Hairo yelled out, "What the hell is wrong with you?!" Causing nearby student to stop and wittiness was was going on. It was highly unusual for Hairo to raise his voice in an angry tone to anyone. He must care a lot.
She noticed the new attention of the students and decided to play it safe by saying, "W-what do you mean? Why on earth would you say that?!" In an obviously false incident voice. We all just stared at her. And by now, even my expression was altered into a scowl by this girl. But, there was one thing she didn't account for. There was a psychic in the room. By listening to her thoughts, I heard, 'What a bunch of idiots. Thinking they could catch me. I'm so popular, no one would ever suspect I did such a thing! Yes! I did it! I made it clear to her that she'll never be like us! That she's different! And now, she won't ever be allowed to forget!' However, because she said it in her mind, she thought no one would ever hear her. But that simply wasn't the case. By the time of her in-mind confession, I was able to use my powers to project her thoughts into the minds of every single person in the cafeteria. Sure it took a lot of energy. But it was worth it.
Obviously, everyone was confused on how they heard what they did. But it was what they heard that caught their attention the most. Yumehara then stood up in her her seat and walked towards her. She slowly held up her arm, then after a moment, in one swift movement, slapped Kana right across the face. As long as I've known her, I've never seen her use violence against anyone! She must really like (L.N). She then yelled, "Why the hell did you treat (Y.N) in such a manner?! What give you the right?!" Kana was confused and yelled back without thinking, "She acts like she belongs! She act like she can just come into this school and do whatever she wants! She's different and needs to know that she'll never be excepted!" I'm sure by now that you know everyone in the cafeteria was paying attention. All of their eyes were wide as they heard her words. I also was surprised. I never thought anyone would be stupid enough to say that. I knew that she needed to be punished for her actions. So I sent a telepathic message to the school nurse, telling her to go on the speaking system, asking for Kana to report to the nurse office. And that's exactly what she did. "May I please have Ito Kana report to the nurse's office."
Kana grunted and stomped into the crowd in the direction of the nurse's office. An angry expression plastered on her face. All of us basically just glared at her as she left. And the two boys who she was with earlier quickly followed behind. Yumehara sat back down and sighed, resting her head in her hands. And none of us spoke for the rest of lunch. However I used my clairvoyance to follow her actions. Just in case.
