SCENE 05.
JOOHYUN WAS LOST.
Drowning in the thoughts of ocean,Joohyun was slowly unfolding the pages of past life.It was rather inexplicable in words ― though what she felt wasn't foreign to Taehyung either.She wanted to approach him and kind of sort everything out but she had no idea how to start.To make it more complicated,Taehyung didn't even show up at the cafe these few days.He had his own reasons but both couldn't lie a part of them felt missing;it's as if they had and will always be destined to each other.Joohyun felt surreal how the things abruptly crossed her mind,it was like a dream but it still felt vivid.
"Joohyun!You always leave me behind."a loud voice fetch her back to reality,turning around she found Seulgi with knitted eyebrows before she clinged her arms around her.
"I'm so–"
Before Joohyun could talk any further she cut her off asking about the assignments she needed to borrow and dragged her along while Joohyun who couldn't suppress her chuckle went with her.Seulgi always had a complain that she forgets to call her while leaving the class but little did she know her best friend's mind has been wondering somewhere else.They were still walking side by side holding each other's arms but the smile in Joohyun's face slowly faded when a back figure came to her vision standing outside the gate.
The color of his hair that turned into hues of brown under the light of sun was enough.
Without answering Seulgi,Joohyun unconsciously ran towards him as the newfound urge to speak hit her.Her unsteady footsteps gained his attention before he turned around to see her ― he widened his eyes seeing her coming towards him so he abruptly moved the other way to not get in her attention.The throbbing pain in his chest got prominent with the each step he took ahead,it wasn't his motive to gain her attention but he had been coming to see her there secretly anyway.It was like a chasing game ― Joohyun was running after Taehyung in the road while he was trying to escape from her without any reason.
"Taehyung!"She shouted tears brimming in her eyes,heart beat thumping loud as the fear of losing him consumed her.
His steps jolted up before the sudden realisation hit him,his name wasn't Taehyung but hearing the name he realised she has remembered everything about their past life.It's as if the the fluids of realisation were injected inside him yet again.His feets felt like they were glued,He couldn't move ahead and that's when Joohyun came from the back wrapping her small arms around him.
"I'm sorry!"her grip around him got tighter and she spoke up again,"I'm s― sorry to take so long to remember you."droplets of tears fell and rolled down from her eyes to rosy cheeks.
They stayed like that for a moment not being able to speak their thoughts until he slowly turned around before getting her in his embrace.It would be an understatement to say he was happy ― he was beyond that to be able to hold her like he was doing right now,looking at her eyes he could see his own reflection and it was the moments like this he lived for.
He smiled before kissing her forehead.
No words was needed between them,it was the action that spoke louder and they both knew for a fact that they were going to cherish each other no matter what happens in the future.
They were indeed each other's whole universe at the end.
