I head back to the chambers prepared for me in order to better prepare myself for the ongoing battle. I don't seem to be able to go for more than three days at the moment before getting involved with someone else's war!

Odin has sent to my room an array of Earth weapons that I can equip myself for the next battle. I pick up a pistol, but keep the sword sheathed in my belt.

My ears perk up and look towards the open door, seeing two Einherjar guards and one of Thor's friends walking past. I hear them open Jane's door and enter, so I follow them and stand around the corner to listen.

"Jane Foster," one the guards say. "You need to come with us." I step back around the corner as they walk back past. I wait until they've gone before heading around in the opposite direction, towards Thor's chambers.

I catch him on the way out.

"They've taken Jane," I tell him. His face hardens and he storms past me. I follow behind, almost struggling to keep up with him on his war path to Odin's council.

"She's your prisoner now?" Thor demands.

"Leave us," Odin says, quietly, to the council. They all start walking off and leave us alone. "I do not wish to fight with you."

"Nor I with you," Thor says, "but I intend to pursue Malekith."

"We possess the Aether," Odin says, "Malekith will come to us."

"Yes, and you will destroy us."

"You overestimate the power of these creatures."

"No, I value our peoples lives," Thor replies. "I'll take Jane to the Dark World and draw the enemy away from Asgard. When Malekith pulls the Aether from Jane it will be exposed vulnerable, and I will destroy it and him."

"If you fail, you risk this weapon falling into the hands of our enemies."

"The risk is far greater if we do nothing. His ship could be over our heads right now and we'd never even know it."

"If and when he comes, his men will fall by ten thousand Asgardian blades."

"And how of our men shall fall on theirs?"

"As many as are needed!" He cries. "We will fight! Until the last Asgardian breath, the last drop of Asgardian blood."

I frown. "Then how are you different from Malekith?"

Odin laughs darkly. "The difference, daughter, is that I will win."
