After stopping off in Baker Street for my special S.H.I.L.D bullets, designed to tackle alien lifeforms, I join the others in Greenwich just as Malekith's ship appears on the Thames near the library grounds. The ship starts moving forward, crashing through the library grounds causing pandemonium until it finally stops in the centre. I sprint towards it, arriving just as Malekith and his Dark Elves step off the ship. Thor flies in and lands beside me.

"You needn't have come so far, Asgardian!" Malekith says. "Death would have come to you soon enough."

"Not by your hand!" Thor replies.

"Your universe was never meant to be. Your world and your family will be extinguished." Malekith uses the power of the Aether to attack Thor, and we're thrown backwards, landing hard on the ground.

We scramble up and Thor attempts to use Mjolnir to deflect the next strike, but it does nothing and we're thrown backwards again. Again, we get up, and this time Thor manages to deflect the Aether, skidding back ever so slightly as he pushes against the force.

"You know," Thor says, standing upright, "with all that power, I thought you would hit harder." Malekith uses the Aether to form a shield around him, yet as Thor swings his hammer and releases it, Malekith is thrown backwards instead and crashes through several of the library columns before going out of sight.

Thor uses Mjolnir to rise up and follow him, leaving me in the quad to deal with the oncoming Dark Elf army. I breathe deeply and reach for my gun before shooting rapidly at each of the oncoming warriors. Miraculously, the bullets work, and they drop to the ground shaking uncontrollably as the electric charges are set off. One by one, they fall and then suddenly a group of them disappear. Jane must have got the portals to work.

The Elves keep coming closer and I keep firing, though looking over at the seemingly never-ending troop I'm not sure I'll have enough bullets for them all.

I become aware of Thor and Malekith landing behind me as they continue their fight, then in the next second they're flying past me and disappearing into another portal.

For several minutes, I do little more than fire at the continually advancing Dark Elf troop. It would seem their weapons are not as advanced as the warrior on Svartalfheim as all they're equipped with swords and spears, making them easy picking with my gun. Just as I feel like I'm making a dent in their numbers, however, I run out of ammo.

Sensing my vulnerability, they begin to charge and I draw my sword. Within seconds, they're on top of me and I'm forced to take on about six at a time: slashing and kicking with all my remaining energy. For Loki.

The Elves start to fall again, but a few times they hit their mark: I can feel a steady trickle of blood down my face which alerts that I've been hit. As I begin to lose my breath, however, Malekith lands in front of his ship. Alone.

Malekith calls something out to the warriors which cause them to withdraw back to his side. "I have spared your life, child," he says to me as he strides forward.

"Don't expect a thank you," I shoot back at him. "Where's Thor?"

"Lost to another realm," he answers. He looks up to the sky and I realise the Convergence has almost arrived. I have to stop him.

I run forward, sword raised, as Malekith readies the Aether: the black matter swirling over his head. Before I can reach it, he sends part of it towards me, tossing me back across the quad again with the force. I roll backwards to slow the momentum and go to stand when Thor lands in front of me, some of Erik's portal devices in his hands. I get to my feet and watch as he pushes through the Aether, reaching Malekith.

"Malekith!" Thor cries, and I can just hear it over the wind created by the Aether.

Malekith turns to face Thor. "Darkness returns, Asgardian. Have you come to witness the end of your universe?"

"I've come to accept your surrender," Thor replies, throwing one of Erik's gadget spears at Malekith, but he catches it. As he does, his arm disappears through the portal created. Neat!

"You think you can stop this?" Malekith asks. "The Aether cannot be destroyed!"

"But you can," Thor replies, summoning Mjolnir at the same time he rushes towards Malekith. The hammer lands in his hand before he uses it to throw Malekith into his ship. A moment later, he disappears through a portal and Thor and I are blown back once more by the energy of the Aether.

I lie on the wet ground for a moment, feeling lucky to have even survived the blast, when all I hear the ship starting to dislodge. My eyes fly open as I watch it starting to fall. While the Aether knocked me out of the path of the falling ship, Thor is still right in the centre and seemingly unconcious, having been knocked back at a greater force.

"Thor!" Jane cries, running to his side. "No!" I stand and make my way over there as quick as I can to help her, but he's too heavy.

"Jane!" Erik calls in warning, and I look up to see the ship coming rapidly closer.

I grab Jane by the arm and try to pull her away, but she throws herself on top of Thor with her eyes closed. Well I'm dammed if I'm going to make a useless sacrifice, so I scarper away from them and watch from beside. Just as the ship is about to land on them, however, it disappears. I breathe out a sigh of relief.

"Everybody okay?" Erik calls, and I look back to see the portal device in his hands. I grin back at him and run over to help Jane and Thor up.

Thor's face looks just as bloodied and beaten as I imagine mine looks, but as he stands he embraces me tightly. "Good fight, Miss Holmes."

"You weren't too bad yourself," I say, smiling back at him.

"What are you going to do now?" Jane asks him, and he looks to her.

"I have business to return to on Asgard for the time being," he says, and Jane looks away, clearly disappointed. "But I give you my word I will return soon."

Jane pulls Thor into a long kiss and then he gives me one last nod goodbye before summoning the Bifrost and disappearing.

I look at the mess around me, then head home.
