Fifty minutes later, the taxi pulls up outside and I pay before running out. There's police everywhere, but two young adults - one dark haired female and a blonde male - are currently being interviewed by their car. They must be somehow involved. The dark haired girl turns suddenly as an older woman runs out from the factory.
"Jane!" the girl calls, running over. "Where the hell were you?"
"Tell me you didn't call the police!" Jane Foster says. I guess I found her.
"What was I supposed to do?" the girl protests.
"Not call the police!"
"I was freaking out!"
"You call the cops they tell the feds, the next thing you know we have S.H.I.E.L.D crawling all over area fifty-oneing the place!" I narrow my eyes. Why would S.H.I.E.L.D be interested in this place?
"Jane!"
"We had a stable gratification anomaly, we had unheeded access. Our only competition was ten years old!" I raise an eyebrow. Now that sounds interesting. I start walking over to them.
"Jane, you were gone for five hours."
"What?" Foster replies, her face falling. Suddenly the weather turns, it starts raining and thunder cracks overhead.
Now the rain does turn quickly in the UK, but not that quickly. What's more odd is that the rain doesn't seem to be touching Foster and the girl.
Lestrade said she had dealings with Thor - the God of Thunder. It can't be a coincidence that the weather has turned so quickly.
I reach their bubble, but just as I do, Foster starts running towards something - taking her invisible barrier with her.
"Typical," the girl mutters.
I turn around to see what Foster was running towards, and my eyes widen. Stood a few feet away is Thor. I run over to join them, just as Foster slaps him hard in the face.
"Sorry. I just needed to make sure you were real," she says, "it's been a very strange day."
"Well, I am. Jane..." Thor is interrupted as Foster suddenly slaps him again.
"Where were you?!"
"Where were you?" he counters. "Heimdall could not see you."
"I was right here where you left me," Foster replies. "I was waiting and then I was crying and then I went out looking for you. You said you were coming back."
"I know, I know, but the Bifrost was destroyed," Thor explains. "The Nine Realms erupted into chaos, wars were raging, marauding hordes were pillaging. I had to put an end to the slaughter."
Foster considers this, calming down "As excuses go, that's not terrible. But I saw you on TV, you were ... you were in New York!"
"Jane, I fought to protect you from the dangers of my world, but I was wrong, I was a fool." Thor places his hand on Jane's face. "I believe that fate brought us together. Jane, I don't know where you were or what happened, but I do know this."
"What?"
"I know..."
"You do?"
"Do what?"
They lean in close and, feeling a bit like a gooseberry, I interrupt. "Hey! Is that you?" I ask, referring to the rain.
"Lady Holmes!" he booms, seeing me at last. "It's good to see you again!" He looks up to the sky, and the rain stops.
"Uh..." Foster says to me, "we're kind of in the middle of something."
The girl comes over to join us. "Um ... I'm pretty sure we are getting arrested."
"Hold that thought," Foster says to Thor, before turning and walking over to the police.
"So, how is everything?" I ask. "Did Loki get his trial?"
"Of sorts," Thor grimaces.
"What do you mean?" I demand. "The whole reason we allowed him to go back to Asgard was to face justice. It wasn't him, Thor, it was Thanos!"
"I know," Thor says, looking down. "But my father did not see it that way."
Before I can reply, there is a crash as something pushes the officers away from Foster and sending Lestrade flying through the air. The woman falls to the ground.
Thor and I run over to her. "Jane! Jane?" he calls, before helping her to stand. "You alright?"
"What just happened?" Foster replies, sounding dazed.
Donovan walks forward, apprehensively. "Place your hands on your head, step back!"
"The woman is unwell," Thor says.
"She's dangerous," Donovan protests.
"So am I."
Donovan speaks down into her radio. "Requesting armed response officers to the scene."
Thor has other ideas and grabs Foster, pulling her closer. "Hold on to me."
"What are you doing?" Foster asks, as a light comes from above. The Bifrost.
Before I can step back, I'm caught up in the Bifrost's radius and lifted up into the air.
