We have little choice but to leave Loki's body behind as a storm approaches, forcing us to seek shelter in a nearby cave.
"He's gonna unleash it," Jane says as we enter, "not just on Asgard or on a star, Malekith is gonna destroy everything."
"How do you know?" I ask.
"I saw him on Earth," she replies. "Why would he go to Earth?"
"The Convergence?" I ask, looking at Thor who nods.
"Oh, God. None of this would have happened if I hadn't found the Aether."
"Then Malekith would have only possessed it that much sooner," Thor assures her. But chances are Loki would still be alive.
"I only found it because I was looking for you," Jane replies.
"Jane," Thor says, placing a hand on her face to calm her down, but she continues.
"Now we're trapped here..." She stops as we hear music playing from somewhere. We exchange looks in confusion.
Thor frowns. "It's not me."
Jane reaches into her pocket and takes out her ringing phone, before putting it to her ear. "Hello?" How can it be ringing? We're on a planet millions of miles away from Earth. Svartalfheim should not have phone signal. "Richard?!" Jane cries out im surprise after a moment. "Where are you?" As Richard continues to talk, Jane puts him on speaker and holds her phone up.
"I'm still in the office," he says from the phone. "It's...It's been a crazy day here today."
"Oh, my God!" Jane says, moving her phone around. It still says full bars. I take mine out and see the same. "This is amazing."
"Is it?" Richard asks, clueless our current situation. I wonder what the phone bill is going to be like. "I quite enjoyed our lunch despite never actually ordering anything."
"How am I getting service here?" Jane says, completely ignoring his indirect request for another date.
"Is this a bad time? Do you want me to try you there?"
"No, no, no, no!" Jane cries, suddenly paying attention. "Please, whatever you do, do not hang up the phone."
"Okay then," he says, sounding awkward. "I was just wondering if you want to try again? Uh...maybe dinner next time."
"Uh...yeah, yeah, yeah," Jane agrees, only half listening. "Um...just stay on the phone, okay?"
"Yeah, I will."
As she continues to talk to Richard, I wander a little bit around the cave until I see a tin can by my foot. I bend down to examine it, but as I do I see a set of car keys a short distance away and walk over to them. As I read the tag, I widen my eyes in surprise and walk back, handing them to Jane.
"Oh, my God," she says, taking them.
"Am I interrupting something," Richard asks.
"No, no, no, nothing at all."
If the keys and can were able to get through from Earth, we must be able to get back. The Convergence must have opened up a small gap in space, and hopefully it's still there.
"Come on," I say back to Jane and Thor as I start walking deeper into the cave.
"I'm losing you there," Richard says, starting to break up, "are you in a tunnel?"
"Where are we going?" Thor asks, following after me as Jane trails behind. As we get deeper into the cave, the number of lost items increases. Thor glances at an area of discarded shoes and frowns. "Why are there so many shoes in here?"
We keep walking and then, seconds later, I'm blinded by the sunlight as we walk out into a large, open area. Looking around, I realise we're back at the factory - Jane's car still abandoned in the centre. Saying nothing, we all get in before Jane drives off.
