"Stay low, stay low."

Thomas and Minho helped Newt over to where Gally was, me not too far behind, I plopped down beside Gally hidden from the chaos.

I began coughing again, this time though, it felt almost raspy, like a demon clawing my throat.

We were stuck behind the cement encasing a tree and dirt.

"What're they waiting for?" Minho whispered.

Before Thomas could reply, a deafening explosion sounded behind Thomas and I jumped out of my skin, just wanting this to be over. Dead or Alive I couldn't care less.

I heard the yells of a protesting crowd, bullets sounded and everything seemed to slow down or become blurred.

I pushed myself low incase any stray bullets came our way.
"We gotta go. We gotta go." I heard, muffled.

I felt like my bones had just crumbled. But I had to grow them before I actually get shot and die.

Thomas and Minho set off with Newt and I began limp running over, every step I'm taking is like hell and back.

The last city had become a war zone.

We ducked away into a dingy alleyway, the only light being the glare of the fire. I had been holding my stomach all the time, I even felt it rumble.

I heard Thomas talking to Brenda over the walkie talkie but I blocked it out.

My head was pulsing severely, glancing down at my hands, they were covered in black and grey veins and were shaking madly. It was like all emotion had drained from me to be replaced by anger and pain.

We went down another alleyway short cut.

"Alright, Newt, Hannah. We're almost there."

I heard Newt mumble a "just leave me."

Don't give up Newt. Don't you dare. If not for yourself, for me.

Seeing a railing, I quickly took hold of it, although before we could get any further, a car had been exploded and flew past us.

I dropped down, coughing mightily.

I heard a whir but didn't bother looking up, because if I did I think I'd might've been sick. Gross. I know, but true.

"That's them, we gotta go, we gotta go."

"Go without me." Newt urged, he turned to the side, throwing up black-ish goo. His wheezing got heavier and heavier.

Mine did too, but I haven't actually thrown up yet, and I don't intend on doing so.

"Minho. You gotta run ahead, grab the serum, get back to us as soon as you can."

I might as well just leave, they wouldn't have enough serum anyway. Why waste it on me.

Tommy, leave me if you have to, but for the love of god, save Newt.
I tried saying it aloud, but all that came out was murmured gurgles.

I heard them say their goodbyes, but I ignored them and went to curl into a ball on my side again.

I had dazed out, glaring at the blare of fresh fire. I felt Thomas shake me, calling my name.

"Hannah? You gotta get up. Come on."

Grunting, I shakily stood up. I stumbled slightly getting to my feet but used the wall to steady myself.

I stumbled across the wall over to Thomas and Newt.

Thomas insisted he help me walk, but I wouldn't put that pressure on him, even if it was life or death. He needed his focus on Newt, he needed to save Newt.
