I was woken up this morning by three jumping screaming children, I smiled, shaking my head, hearing Severus groan in pain as a knee caught his gut. He quickly sat up and I watched as Ben fell to the hard floor, I couldn't help but laugh as I looked at Severus, he shook his head as the girls came to my side hugging me close waiting for the blow up. However it never came as Gray stood at the foot of the bed with his head down looking sad and scared. Severus sighed as he looked at Gray shaking his head, before motioning for him to come closer, Gray looked down before coming closer to Severus, he shook his head taking Gray lightly by the arm.
"I'm not going to hurt you, I'm not mad either, it was an accident, just please be little more careful next time, your ol' man's not as young as he once was."
Gray looked down nodding his head.
"I'm sorry Dad."
"It's alright, why don't you go get changed into your robes, we'll meet downstairs before we go to the school."
Gray nodded his head and I kissed the girls cheeks before sending them off with their brother, they ran out of the room. I laughed, shaking my head before looking at Severus, he looked down, shaking his head before looking at me with sad eyes.
"I don't get why he's so afraid of me, I've never laid a hand on him, or the girls, I just don't get it."
I sighed, kissing his shoulder before resting my chin on his shoulder.
"You're his dad, he just wants you to be proud of him, it scares him to think that he might disappoint you. I think today he's worried he'll be sorted into Slytherin like you were, they all are, they love you, they're just afraid to follow in your darker footsteps. They're scared, they don't want to disappoint us, I completely understand it, I remember how Harry was, he practically begged the sorting hat not to put him in Slytherin. He loves you, they all do, they just want us to be happy and proud of them, we just have to reassure them that no matter what we'll love them. The house they get sorted into doesn't matter as long as they're happy we're happy. While we've been telling them that their whole lives sometimes kids just need reassurance you know?"
He sighed, nodding his head.
"Yeah, I know, I just wish they wouldn't fear me how I feared my father."
"The only thing they fear about you is the possibility of disappointing you, they love you, they just want you to be proud of them."
"They'll never understand how proud of them I already am, how proud of them I've been since the day they were brought into this world."
"They never do, and they won't until they become parents themselves."
He looked at me with a small smile on his face, I smiled connecting my lips to his in a small chaste kiss. I pulled away leaning my forehead against his, before looking at the clock, I sighed, shaking my head looking back at him with a small smile on my face.
"We have to get up, they'll be back if we're not down there soon."
He sighed nodding his head before getting out of bed, I went to the closet pulling out a floor length black and white plaid dress with long sleeves, and my black high heels. I laid the dress on the bed next to my wand before setting my shoes on the floor, and going to the bathroom.
