There I stood in front of the never used shiny tower. I couldn't help but feel doubt run down my spine. I took the paper I had the address on out from my back pocket. At this point I was stalling.
With a deep deep breath, I walked towards the door only to find it chained up. "Shit."
While spinning around, I found a huge branch, and I placed it between the space where the door handle and chain was, and yanked it hard. The chain broke but my hands had so many small splinters. "Great. Just freaking great."
I enter the building while taking out my flashlight. The condition of the building made me wonder why no one found use for it. Nothing was damaged, it was ready for use. I looked around until I found stairs that lead me to the roof.
When I reached the roof exit, the door was stuck. I tried opening the door but it was like something was laying against the door. I looked around to find something to help me but there was nothing around. There was no way I was opening the door on my own.
I was about to give up when I noticed a circular door on the ceiling. I took the nearest chair and opened the door. I was greeted by the sharp cold air of the break of dawn. I pulled the latter down and climbed on to the roof.
My hair was violently pushed in many directions that my vision was blocked. I sat there for minutes taking the view in. You could see the entire town. I even saw Reed Hotel. It's one of the biggest hotels we have.
The cars looked like they were rushing fast to get somewhere as the street lights glowed off of their sparkly paint. There were teenagers laughing as they crossed the streets. The sound of the fire trucks sirens in the distance rang through my ears. I can imagine the family moments that are created in each glowing golden window.
I snapped out sight gazing and took out Alica's books from my jacket.
"Across from the place I gain inspiration. When the night is consumed with silence there will be light that glows from a far. Then, there Romeo and Juliet's love will cast the darkness away."
I took the photos from the collage from between the pages of the book. I skimmed through every single one until I saw a photo that stood out like a sore thumb. Unlike the other building pictures, this photo singled out one window.
I lifted the photo in the air, and moved in circles trying to find out which window it is. In the photo the room had red curtains, and the only place that is similar to the photo is Reed Hotel.
I walked closer to the edge of the roof to get a better view but it was hard to single out one window with the large amount of distance.
a frustrated sigh left my lips. "What am I doing?" I ran my fingers through my hair as I kicked pebble and heard it hit something metal. I bent down and allowed my fingers to brush against the metal box. I took out my flashlight, and opened the metal box.
There was a camera. This slick black camera was a gift from me. I gave it to Alica for her sixteenth birthday. I remember her dropping her camera and it shattered to pieces. She was so upset, that I saved up to buy her new one. I took the camera and looked through it's lends and saw there was a single window in my direction. I used the pictures to see if it was the same picture.
Why was she taking photos of a hotel room?
"Funny to find you up here.." I jump in fear as a deep voice appears out of nowhere.
There I was standing close to the edge of a rooftop while I was confronted by a familiar pair of empty chestnut brown eyes.
