Mavis's POV

"Grayson, I really have to get inside now" I giggled as he continuously pecked my lips. We were standing outside my house after the events that had just happened.

"Nooo" he whined pulling me closer.

"Gray!" I squealed as he squeezed my butt.

"You'll let me know your choice right?" He asked suddenly becoming serious.

"Of course" I nodded. "You'll be the first to know"

He exhaled deeply before placing a sweet kiss on my forehead. "Think about yourself okay?"

I nodded again before he placed another kiss on my lips, slipping into his car leaving me with a smile on my face and a head full of stuff to think about .

Grayson's POV

I was happy for Mavis, extremely happy but apart of me was disappointed that she has other choices now.

I know it's selfish of me to wish that she wouldn't have been accepted into those schools but now that means that there's a good chance she won't come to LA with me.

And I really want her to, but I can't tell her this or she'll, without a doubt, go to LA for me. I don't want her to move across the country and give up two greats schools for me.

I guess now all I can do is hope.

Jeff's POV

Next day......

How does Paul Rudd stay so young? He looks exactly the same way he did in clueless. And before you say anything I only saw clueless because it's Mavis's favorite movie.

Now here he is as Antman looking the same way he did all those years ago.

Mavis walked into my room flopping on my bed burying her face into my pillow. I chuckled laying on my said to get a better look at her.

"What's wrong, may?" I asked my lips forming into a small smile.

"I'm stressed" she turned her head frowning. Her cheek was smooshed against my pillow making her look fucking adorable.

"Why?" I asked softly as I moved some strands away from her face.

"I-I don't know what to do" she sat up. She then explained her whole dilemma with Grayson and college.

A bit of anger and jealousy coursed through me as she spoke. She's basing her choices off of him?

I can't say anything cause it'll make me a hypocrite. I applied Mavis to all those schools then, I myself applied to community colleges around them so I could follow her.

I know it sounds creepy and insane but I honestly have no future. But Mavis does, so I'm going to be there to help her do her best. For me, best case scenario, I'll get a job at an office or bank and make a living but Mavis; she can go far. She has so much potential and I hope she doesn't go to UCLA. Not because I don't want her with Grayson but because he'll be a distraction to her.

"Mavis, forget about Grayson" I said sternly.

"What?" She furrowed her brows in confusion.

"Think about the colleges and what they have to offer, don't think about Grayson. You can go far, may, I know you'll make the right choice" I placed a kiss on the center of her forehead.

"What about you?" She asked curiously.

"Me? Well I don't know, I'm playing it by ear" I shrugged laying back on my bed.

"Jeff, you can go far too" she smiled tilting her head, god she's beautiful.

"No I can't" I let out a short laugh. "What can I do? Lose my temper and play fortnite?"

"No, you're more than just that" she smiled. "You can get a scholarship!" She suddenly exclaimed.

"What? No I can't?" I shrugged. You needed a skill for that, and even if I did have one school was over I had no connections.

"Yes! You're a pro at football! A football scholarship!" She bounced on my bed. "I'm gonna look it up" she kissed my cheek before running back to her room.

There was no way she would be able to get me a scholarship this late in the year, acceptance letters had already been sent there was no way I could get a scholarship.

"This room is a mess" were the first words that came out of my mother's mouth as she barges into my room cleaning up old trash and folding clothes.

"Hello to you to mother" I chuckled.

"What are you doing?" She rushes out sitting next to me on my bed with a worried expression.

"What do you mean?" I played dumb, she was talking about college. She's tried to talk to me about it multiple times but I've always found a way out.

"College, you know I want the best for you. And as much as I love and adore Mavis, you can't follow her" she sighed.

"Mom, I'll be fine besides wouldn't it be better if I went with her and you wouldn't have to pay for two separate apartments just one" I shrugged.

"Money isn't an issue, don't worry about that" she shrugged.

"I actually do have to worry about it, mom. You still have Ava to care of, plus the bills and my tuition; it's too much" I was worried about them, maybe I should take a gap year. Get a job send them money, that way I'll have time to think and help them out.

"I didn't want to tell you this but....." she trailed off.

"But?" I pressed.

"Your father has been helping out-."

"You're taking money from Steven!" I snapped cutting her off.

"He's your father" she sighed.

"Who left us, he knew we were struggling and he left. He didn't even wait till Avalon was born, he just up and left" I scoffed. I hated my father with a passion.

What kind of man leaves his pregnant wife with a three year old? A coward. I wanted absolutely nothing to do with him.

"Jeff, he's trying" her voice turned soft.

"So, you're just going to forgive him? Just like that?" I scoffed.

"Mind your tone with me! I'm still your mother and you'll respect me and my decisions!" She yelled at me before leaving.

She yelled at me because she knows I'm right, no matter how much shit my father puts my mother through she'll always love him.
