When Abigail was younger she used to love lunchtime. In elementary school, she was one of the more popular girls. Her best friends at the time, Skylar and Vanessa, were the nicest persons she knew back then. At lunch, they used to share candy they snuck with them from home. Skylar's dad traveled a lot and she often brought candy from different European countries.
Now, lunch was like any other time in the day, hell. It wasn't bad as in she was bullied, it was just a constant reminder that she wasn't popular anymore. A reminder that the friends she has right now are the only friends she has. Yet today she seemed to receive friendlier smiles than usual.
"What's that all about?" Georgia asked as they sat down at a table. Minutes before Lorelei Halon had accidentally stepped on Abigail's foot while they were walking past each other. "Omg, I am so sorry, are you alright?" she had immediately said. Abigail had just nodded confused at her and continued walking, leaving a disappointed Lorelei behind.
"I have no idea," she said as a girl approached their table. The girls recognized her as Kiera Simmons, one of the popular girls in school. She stood in front of them for a minute kind of waiting for them to say anything. The girls simply stared at her.
"Hi Abigail!" she said and broke the silence. She smiled widely. It was that kind of smile that you just know is fake. "So Audrey, Nevaeh and I wondered if you wanted to sit with us today" she giggled.
"Um, why are you asking me?" Abigail asked confused even though she thinks she knew.
"Oh we just think you are so interesting and nice, Nevaeh has Belgian chocolate with her" she smiled widely. Was that a bribe?
"Can we come to?" Maddie asked with crossed arms leaning back in her chair.
Kiera looked back at her friends who shook their heads. "I don't think there is enough space, sorry," she said and fake smiled. "So Abby, what do you say? We want to hear all about when you met Fi-" she cut off mid-sentence like she remembered something. "We just want to talk to you" she then said. So that's what this is about.
"I'm good thanks," Abigail said and fake smiled. Kiera rolled her eyes and walked away to her table.
"Okay..." Meghan said and looked at the other. She then started laughing. Her friends quickly joined.
"So just because I met Finn Wolfhard ONCE I'm popular?" Abigail asked. Maddie shook her head.
"Nah, they just wanna talk to you so you'll make him add them on Instagram"
They continued eating their lunch, laughing and talking to each other.

When they all walked to class half an hour later Abigail could feel her phone vibrate. She looked at her notification. It was four dm's form Finn. She opened and read what he had written.
