A week had past since the incident with her mother.
I walk down the halls. I could hear that the incident is still being gossiped by people in the halls; some of them true, but only a few knew the real story. Most were just making up most of the parts.
Malicious glares came all around as I go to my next class, but I screen them out. I have been doing just that, so far. I attended class, and deep inside, hoped no one would just mention it.
A few whispered and hushed about it, but no one said it out loud. The teacher, too, didn't mind. Maybe he was in the secret, as well.
The bell soon rang, ending my agony. As the usual routine goes, I just sat on my seat, and waited for everyone to leave before I do.
Once the last student left, I leaned over my desk, and started to fix my bag, readying to get home.
"Even in college, the wallflower still stays silent, huh?" A familiar voice mocks me.
I smile, as I got up, my mind quickly coming up with a reply , "And I see the golden tiger managed to find said wallflower."
The girl scowled, picking up whatever she could get and throwing it at me.
Moments later, I realized she threw a notebook, as I lamely dodged it...somewhat.
"Don't call me with that name again, Wallflower."
She snapped, pointing her index at me with a fearful-yet cute-expression. I raised up my hands in defeat.
She toned down, but seems she's still upset, crossing her arms around her chest.
"Is that really some way to greet an old friend?"
She said, with a small tug on the edges of her mouth.
"Ok, sorry. Let me try again."
I got up, and took a few steps towards her.
"Its nice to meet you again, Spencer."
I took her with me to a nearby fast food establishment after school.
Or, I could say she forced me to.
"I can see you're still much of a bully as you were back in the days." I told her, grabbing a French fry from the table and dipping it into the pool of ketchup.
"Yeah, but I see you've gotten soft. Even softer than in 4th year. Kind of miss my Bonnie."
"Hey, if anything, I was Clyde."
"Whatever!"
She rolled her eyes in disbelief, as she sipped on her cola.
Honestly, it was quite a surprise to see Spencer again.
We used to be classmates in high-school.
Best friends and nothing more.
Her blonde hair grew a bit longer in her absence, and her skin got a bit fairer. She used to look so boyish, but I guess now she decided to be a bit girlish.
But, looking past her face, seeing her in a school blouse with their sleeves ripped off, a spike band, and black nail Polish, I could see she was every bit of a goth she once was.
Maybe she forgot her makeup today?
"So, how'd college treat you, Wallflower?"
"I told you not to call me that anymore."
"Well, it still fits you. Besides, I told you I wouldn't call you that if it doesn't fit you any more. But, it so does."
"Well, I tried..."
