Niall’s POV
I hung up to phone, and yet again looked over to Eloise. She still hasn’t moved. She knew my biggest secret, she knew that I loved her. I felt bad knowing that she had to chose between 3 guys. Any of us would be lucky to have her, honestly. I’m not going to let her choose me though, I know she won’t be as happy with me. I’ll make sure she doesn’t pick me, but I’ll still be her friend, a close friend. I can change my love into one of a best friend, I can do that for her.
“Alright Niall?” Liam asked as he walked into the room, with Harry and Rosie trailing behind,
I nodded in response, “Thanks for coming guys. Hopefully she’ll wake up soon”
“Yeah, I hope so...” Harry whispered,
“What’s up Harry?” I asked,
“Eloise broke up with me last night” He said glumly,
“Oi, mate I’m sorry” I said,
“It’s fine...I guess I had it coming. I haven’t really been there for her lately, it’s been so hard getting used to life without Caroline, and taking care of a child. I feel so bad about everything, I never meant to put her through this...” He confessed, he looked really broken up,
“Maybe she’ll give you another chance. If you explain to her what happened, maybe she’ll forgive you. She should understand, you just lost your girlfriend, and now you’ve got to handle Rosie. You’ve just gotten the hang of it, it was stressful” I told him,
“I guess...I haven’t really got anything to lose” He said, brightening up a bit. Zayn and Sydney came in next, and Louis followed with his head down,
“Thanks for coming guys, I’m sure Ellie would appreciate it” I told them as they sat down,
“I really hope she’s alright” Sydney said as she walked over towards Eloise,
“Hey, you really need to wake up El! Everyone’s here for you, just waiting for you to wake up! You better be okay, or I’m going to be really mad, and I’ll take all your stuff, including the rest of the boys. Kay? Kay. You’re waking up soon. I’m gonna sit down now, don’t think you’re off the hook either when I sit down. I’ll still be waiting” She said, being her usual self.
She went back and sat down next to Zayn, and the room once fell silent. No one moved, no one spoke, we all just sat there quietly, waiting for Ellie to wake up. Thankfully, the doctor entered the room, asking me to go into the hall. I followed him out into the hall,
“Now, I brought you out here to tell you the news privately, since you seem to be quite close to Ms.Cooper” He began,
“I reckon so, yeah” I agreed,
“The test results came back, and there’s two results I think you should know. The DNA results came back from the rape kit, and it leads us to Justin Kramer. The evidence has been sent to the police, and he’s been put into custody, he’s being sentenced for 5-10 years in prison. I’d also like to inform you that Eloise has...........”
Wow. I can’t believe what the doctor had just told me. I don’t know how the boys are going to take it, and I don’t know how she’s going to handle it when she finds out. I know that I will be here, every step of the way with her, and the boys probably will be too.
We’ve only known Ellie for 3 or 4 months, but all of us boys would give the world for her. Ellie has one of those personalities where you just connect right away. That quality probably doesn’t work out for her that well sometimes. It clearly shows with Justin, he ended up breaking her heart, and treating her terribly, by taking advantage of her.
But meeting us, and getting to know us I believe helped Ellie. She has 5 best friends, opposed to none, and I’d definitely consider her to be part of our ‘Family’. I decided I’d been out here long enough, and walked back into the room. Everyone’s head’s turned to me, and looked at me expectantly until Liam spoke up,
“So...?”
“Oh, uh the doctor told me what the results showed...” I stated,
“OBVIOUSLY!” Everyone shouted in unison,
“Yeah, so he said that erm, the rapist was her ex-boyfriend, Justin, who’s been arrested for 5-10 years” I told them,
“I fucking hate that guy so much!” Sydney exclaimed, throwing her hands in the air,
“That’s not all” I added in,
“What else is there?” Louis asked with a quiet voice,
“He said that..uhm...Eloise is uh...pregnant” I told them,
“I’m gonna beat the shit out of this guy. I swear to God, I’m going to kill him!” Sydney shouted,
“Yeah, well...it’s not his” I confessed,
“What do you mean it’s not his?” Louis asked,
“She’s been pregnant for 3 months” I whispered as I looked at Harry, along with everyone else in the room. Harry got up, carrying Rosie in his arms, who he handed to me and ran out of the room. I passed her over to Louis, and ran after him down the hallway. He got into the elevator, and the doors closed before I could stop it. I turned around and ran to the stairs, sprinting down them to make sure I didn’t lose Harry.
As I reached the bottom of the stairs, I saw the automatic doors leading to the exit, close. I darted out of the doors and down the walkway to see a figure sitting on the curb, with their head in their hands. I could recognize that head of hair anywhere, so I sat down next to him.
“I know you don’t want to talk right now, so I’ll talk, and you can listen” I began, “Harry, you’re one of THE strongest people that I know. You’ll handle this, I know you can, and I know Eloise can. You guys will have so much help, and you both have some experience with Rosie. Harry I totally believe you can do this, you may be shocked now, there may be some difficult times down the road, but you’re tough, you’ll make it through” I told him, and he looked up at me. His eyes were wet with tears, bloodshot from crying, but he still managed to give me a small smile.
“You truly believe that?” He asked me,
“Would I tell you that if I didn’t believe so myself?” I asked him, it was a rhetorical question, and he didn’t disagree.
As if on cue, my phone started to vibrate in my pocket, and I slid it out and answered,
“Hello?” I asked,
“Niall? It’s Liam, Eloise is awake” He said, and I hung up the phone, grabbed Harry by the arm, and ran inside.
