Unfamiliar moves

Chapter four

We arrived at mamas at 8:45 we didn't have class until 10:30 so we had plenty of time. School was only round the corner.

We sat down at our table and we had arrived at just the right time because all the workers had been and gone with their coffee to go and the builders had eaten their breakfasts and left so we practically had the place to ourselves.

We both ordered a fruit smoothie and a medium fried breakfast with an extra hash brown. (I just cannot get enough of those things.)

I loved coming here as it was really the only time I ate fried food. My mum would never have cooked me anything like this it was all solid home cooked meals. She was really into keeping fit and was always lecturing me on the fact that one day all my naughty food I ate would catch up on me! I was slim yes but I danced three three nights a week and went to the gym so I deserved a treat.

"So has Jake got himself a job yet?" I asked

Leona replied "ha ha! He wouldn't be able to hold it down for long even if he did! Dads asked him if he wants to join the business and get taught the ropes? I don't think he is up for the challenge just yet? I know dad just wants him to grow up a bit but I really think that my brother is secretly moonlighting as Peter Pan? That boy will never grow up! And as for Naomi well she's a different kettle of fish all together!"

I sniggered. I totally understood what she meant. Jake really didn't know how to pick women? He was a very popular boy when he went to school and he had dated Naomi (who was the head cheerleader, and the most sought after girl). They were a really cute couple until Naomi had cheated on him with his best friend? They worked it out though and then she did it again with a member of the football team in the school locker room just as Jake walked in she was zipping up her dress. I thought they were over and done with then but she always seemed to talk him round to taking her back. More fool him I thought? He would realise one day that she wasn't right for him. But I agree with Leona's dad Jake really needed to grow up first! And the majority of boys aged between 16-21 think with there pants first! And Jake was your prime example of this?

"Anyway why are you so happy and chirpy today? Your face has been beetroot red every since you pulled up at my house?" Leona quizzed

"Eerm, it's just not I suppose and aren't I allowed to be happy?" I asked

"Okay? Whatever, I will get it out of you by the end of today!" She smiled.

Our breakfasts arrived and we sat in silence. We only did that at mamas cafe as the food was too good to talk Inbetween bites.

We finally finished and the time was 9:50. We paid our bill and got back into the car. Our first period today was history and I loved the subject so I didn't want to be late.
