Evelyn's hands shook and her breathing was heavy as she sat curled in the corner of her bathroom, her knees drawn up to her chest as her body trembled. A million thoughts ransacked her head and no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't stop them. She never could. It was like there was a swarm of angry hornets buzzing around inside her head and no matter what she did or what she thought, nothing could stop them. Nothing could ever stop them.

She cast a glance over to the razor sitting on the side of her bathtub, swallowing thickly as tears ran steadily down her cheeks. She reached out with a shaking hand, wrapping her fingers around the handle. Do it. She rolled up her sleeve, her bottom lip quivering like a small child's as she did so. She sucked in a harsh inhale, letting out a choked sob as she dragged the razor down her arm, letting a trail of blood run down it. Another sob followed the broken one that escaped her lips and soon she was crying openly as she cut into both her wrists, dropping her head to rest on her knees when her hands became too shaky to continue.

"Evelyn?"

Evelyn's head popped up when she heard her boyfriend's familiar voice just outside the bathroom, quickly scrambling to her feet as she wiped harshly at her eyes. "C-Coming! Just give me a second!" she said, quickly moving to wash the blood away from her arms and nearly jumping ten feet out of her skin when the bathroom door opened.

There stood a wide eyed Isaac, his piercing blue hues landing on her scars as his lips parted. "What are you doing?" he breathed, his eyes meeting hers. "What - Evelyn, I - why?" he breathed, his brow furrowed. "Why would you do this to yourself?"

Evelyn's hands shook again as she let out another quiet sob, clenching her stinging eyes shut as she held her one of her now scarred arms to her chest. "I'm sorry," she whimpered, gasping in air. "I-It's too much, I can't - I can't do this anymore, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I can't, I..." the girl trailed off when Isaac reached out, pulling her against his chest and letting her weep openly into his shirt.

The blue eyed boy brought up a gentle hand to cup the back of her head, burying his fingers gently into her hair as he rested his chin gently on the top of her head. "Shh, Eve," he whispered softly, the familiar nickname making her sob all the harder. "Shh, it's okay. It's okay, I'm here. I'm right here.." he whispered, stroking her hair tenderly as he pressed soft kisses to anywhere he could reach; her shoulder, the side of her neck, her earlobe, her temple. Anywhere his lips could reach, he left soft, loving kisses to let her know that he was there and she wasn't alone. "I've got you. You're not alone, my love. You're not alone."

Evelyn's sobs soon calmed and she just stood quietly in his arms, her fingers gripping tightly to his shirt as if he would disappear from her grasp if she didn't. She let out a shaking breath, swallowing thickly as she let her now swollen and puffy eyes fall shut. "I'm sorry, Isaac.."

"Shh, no," Isaac whispered, kissing the top of her head as he pulled back only slightly so he could cup her cheeks in his palms and gently brush away the remainder of her tears. "I'm sorry. I'm sorry I didn't see that you were hurting. I should have noticed and I shouldn't have let you get to this point." he said softly, bringing her arms gently to his lips and pressing soft kisses to the scars there. "But Evelyn...I need you to know, you're not alone. You hear me? I'm always here when you need me. Always. Anything you ever need, I'm here. Please don't ever think that I will judge you or not be there for you because that's what I'm here for. I want to take care of you."

Evelyn took a shaking breath, nodding and leaning into his touch. "Okay," she said softly, hummed quietly as he stroked her cheekbone and pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Come on," Isaac said softly, rubbing his hands gently up and down her arms. "Let's get you cleaned up."

Evelyn sat quietly on the counter while she let Isaac clean her scars and wrap them gently in an ace bandage. When he was done he scooped her into his arms, carrying her carefully into the bedroom and laying her down in bed. He crawled in next to her, pulling her into his chest and letting her wrap her arms around his middle.

"I love you," Isaac said softly, brushing his fingers gently through her hair.

"I love you too." Evelyn whispered, taking comfort in his touch and letting it lull her into the first peaceful sleep she'd had in months.

NOTE!

So this particular request was really important to me because while I don't have depression and I've never been through self harm, I do have major anxiety issues and I know how much it sucks to feel like you're alone and don't have anyone to go to. I don't want to preach to you guys or anything, but I just want to say that it always gets better. Always. Please don't stop fighting. Please keep going. If not for anyone else, then for me. If you guys ever need anyone to talk to about anything, my inbox is always open and I'm always here. Please come talk to me if you want to. I love you all so much. Thanks for reading. ❤️

Much love,
