Authors Note: pictured above is the infamous bitch extraordinaire Lacey Scott, she may be mean but she sure is pretty.

Florence

Things with Beckett slowly go back to normal, he stops bothering me about Marcus and we adopt the 'don't ask, don't tell' policy. I don't know what's going on in his romantic life, and he doesn't know how mine is progressing. We have not talked about this kiss, and are successfully pretending like it never happened. Things are smooth sailing.

It's after school and I decide to head over to Leo's house, my parents are heading home tonight. My dad gave me an update on my mom's situation and things aren't looking so good. But at least I get to move out of the Vitales house, which I am praising god for. I love the Vitales with all my heart but things with Beckett are still awkward, at least for me. Who knows if he even remembers the kiss? He was pretty blackout.

I type the code in for Leo's gate and let myself into their property. I've come over often enough that Leo's parents just set the gate with an individual code for me as well.

The front door is unlocked so I don't have to ring the doorbell. I head into the kitchen to grab a bottle of Kombucha from the fridge, I greet their chef Elaine and head up toward Leo's room.

The door is ajar and I can see him and Jason intensely playing video games. Oh god, maybe I should just chill at home instead. Leo is crazy competitive so who knows how long this game will last.

Leo spots me from his peripheral, "hey Florence, come in! We're almost done with this round."

Well I guess my decision is made for me, I walk into his room, "I'm just going to go chill on your bed."

"Sounds good, we'll be -," I hear shooting noises as I pass behind them, something I always make sure to do now. You do not want to step in front of the TV while Leo is playing, trust me he will make you rue the day, "fuck yeah I just killed you!"

Jason yells, "nope! I killed myself and now I can respawn."

"Damn it!"

I'm already heading away from the den in his room, where they're playing, down the hall to his bed when Leo yells, "oh shoot! Sorry Flore, we'll be there in a second, I just realized I never finished my sentence."

I just shake my head, and plop myself down on his bed. The canopy curtains fluttering around me. I open up my phone to see a text from Marcus, "hey babe, I don't think I can hangout tonight – something came up."

I don't know how to tell him I hate when he calls me babe, because he seems to like it so much. But it makes me slightly cringe every time I hear it or see it. I text back, "that's totally fine I'll just chilling with Leo, is everything okay?"

"Sounds good, and nothing major Coach just wants us to meet for a late practice tonight."

I reply, "Can't believe I'm dating a big football star."

He texts back, "that's not the only thing about me that's big..."

I yelp, did he just say that. Nervously I just message back, "LOL" and shut off my phone.

Marcus and I have been official for about two weeks now, he asked me a week after our night at O'Nally. We were at the beach just sitting on the sand and watching the sunset, he was telling me how he wanted to teach me how to surf soon. Because he thought it was absolutely atrocious that I had been living in California for this long without knowing how to surf. I started laughing, and then he just looked at me for a while. I nervously asked him, "what?"

He said, "nothing babe you're just so beautiful." And for once, I actually believed him, corny as it was, and that's when he asked, "will you be my girlfriend?"
