Unexpected

'Kate walked slowly into the precinct trying to stay awake. She nodded at people she knew. She decided today she should take the stairs so she doesn't fall asleep.She walked up the couple flight of stairs to the homicide floor and walked to the break room. Filling up her coffee cup again but with more shots of expresso. She took a sip and could feel herself awakening at the taste of fresh steaming hot coffee. With her coffee in hand she heads over to her desk sighing as she sits down. She hears the echoing of two pairs of feet making their way towards her as she runs her hand over her face. "Yo Chica! Ar- WOAH!! Did you get any sleep last night?" Javy exclaims. Kate lets out a puff of air. "Geez that makes me feel so much better guys" She says rolling her eyes. "Sorry Do you need anything?" Ryan asks concern.

Ryan is so sweet. "no I'm good" I yawn. "Why haven't you been sleeping?" Javy asks. "Look guys I appriciate your concern but I really need to talk to Gates." I tell them heading to her office. "Knock knock" I say tapping on the door. "come in Beckett" Gates says not looking up from her papers. I shut the door behind me and lay down on the couch. "Rough night again?" She says with a knowing smirk. "yes!!! Please tell me you've found someone!!!" I groan. "You honestly cant handle a baby?" Gates says with her eyebrows raised. "I just need a break." I sigh putting my hands on my face. "Kate Maybe you should quit your job" She says lowering her voice. "I cant" i sigh. "take a break from it then!! You just had a baby!! I covered for you at the precinct the whole time you were pregnant and at the Agency. Now as your boss of both jobs Im sending you home with no cases or assignments and also I sent you files to help you out with finding a nanny. They are all in the agency" She says with a smile. I groan and get off the couch. "I'll see you in a couple months detective" Gates says. "MONTHS!!!" I exclaim probably a little too loud. "Yes now go home and that's an order. Pour yourself a glass of wine-" "I can't I just had a baby which I have to go feed" I sigh standing up. "ok bye And also Call me with updates. If you get bored tell me" Gates says. "Yes sir" i say and head to my desk. I grab all my stuff. "Yo Beckett! We got a fresh one" Javy says. "Gates sent me home" I roll my eyes. "Damn! How are you suppose to pay bills with her sending you home constantly?" I shrug. "talk to you boys later" I say leaving the precinct.
