Why Did You Go? [Tadashi x Reader]

The next day Camila woke up and sighed. She looked at the clock on her phone, squinting her eyes to read it.

8:25 AM

Camila sighed once again. She guessed that herself and Hiro could miss school today. She didn't feel like going but school was important. It really was considering it was college. Her and Hiro had missed 2 weeks now and needed to get back soon. School started two hours ago so she figured, what's one more day?

Camila snapped herself out of her own thoughts and walked into the bathroom. She did her business before washing her hands and taking her medication. After that, she walked into the kitchen and quickly made some pancakes and eggs, using her Aunts recipe.

Camila brought a plate up to Hiro's room and knocked on the door. Once again, no answer. She opened the door to see Hiro still in bed. Only this time, he was awake and sitting up.

Camila gave the boy a soft smile. "Hey, I made some breakfast." She spoke in a soft tone. The boy ignored her words and continued looking at the floor. Camila sighed and set the plate on his desk before sitting next to him on his bed.

"I know life sucks right now but, tomorrow we have to get back to school. We've missed a lot and that stack of papers that we're gonna have is only gonna get bigger if we don't go." Camila told the boy. He still ignored the girls words. Camila sighed once again before running her right hand through the boys fluffy hair and pulling him into a hug. She kissed his head and whispered, "Everything's gonna be okay." The boy hugged Camila back and sighed.

"I miss them." He whispered back, his voice wavering. "I know kiddo, I miss them too." She replied, her eyes watering. Camila felt Hiro sob and hugged him closer, if possible. They both cried together.

After the crying fest was over, Camila and Hiro just held each other. Deep down inside of them they were scared that if they were to let go, the other would disappear.

"Do you wanna do anything today?" Camila rasped, breaking the long silence.

"No." Hiro rasped back. Camila nodded and yawned. She looked at the alarm clock next to the bed and sighed.

"I have to go open up the cafè. Do you wanna help?" The girl asked the younger boy. (Aunt Cass had left the cafè to Camila just in case something ever happened to her. It was gonna go to Tadashi but since he went with her, it was Camila's now.) He shook his head once again. Camila sighed and kissed his head once again. "I'll be back in an hour to check up on you." She spoke before getting up and walking out of the room.

Camila sighed and cleaned the counter. It wasn't busy today, thank god. She checked the time and decided to go check up on Hiro. She walked up one flight of stairs before walking across the living room and jogging up another. She knocked on Hiro's door before opening it. She mentally aww'd at the sight.

Hiro was asleep in Baymax's arms.

Baymax turned his head to Camila as she entered and did his little wave.

"Hello. I am Baymax, your personal healthcare assistant." His robotic voice echoed throughout the room.

"Hey Baymax, how are you?" Camila spoke quietly, not wanting to wake up Hiro.

"I am good. How are you Camila?" He asked.

"Okay considering everything that's going on." Camila sighed and sat next to the giant robot on Hiro's bed. She leaned her head on Baymax's arm and yawned.

"You are tired. You should get some sleep." He said.

"I can't. I have to run the cafè. And didn't I tell you to stop doing random scans on me? It's weird." Camila responded. "Sorry, but it is apart of my programming." The robot responded before turning his head and laying Hiro down and standing up. He started walking towards the door, making Camila hop up and run in front of him. "What are you doing?"

"I am going to run the cafè. You need to rest." Baymax responded, tilting his head to the side slightly. "Is my programming wrong?"

"Baymax, I'd love some rest. But I have to run the cafè for Aunt Cass." Camila responded.

"But you need rest." Baymax responded. "My scan shows that you haven't gotten a proper nights sleep in 3 weeks. If you continue to operate without enough sleep, you may see more long-term and serious health problems. Some of the most serious potential problems associated with chronic sleep deprivation are high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure or stroke."

"Baymax, I'll be fine. I promise I'll get some sleep tonight, okay?" Camila said.

"Okay. But I shall make sure of it." He responded before turning around. "Good afternoon, Hiro." He said. Camila leaned to the left a little and peaked from behind Baymax to see Hiro was awake.

"Hey Hiro, how are you?" Camila asked, stepping around the white robot to now be in front of Hiro. "Fine. Umm, I'll help you out in the cafè." He quickly said before hopping up from bed. Camila had no time to question him because he was already out of the room.

"Stay here Baymax." Camila told the walking marshmallow before walking downstairs to the cafè. She saw Hiro behind the register taking orders. She waited till he was done before she pulled him aside.

"Hey, are you okay?" Camila asked. "Yup, I'm fine. How about you go rest? I think I got the cafè. It's not that busy." Hiro responded quickly, ushering the girl towards the stairs.

"Hey hey hey, this isn't about what Baymax said, is it?" Camila asked.

"Uh, no. I don't know what you're talking about." Hiro said, holding a nervous smile. It was the same one Tadashi would have whenever he was doing something wrong or something he didn't want his fincacèè to know about. It happened rarely so it was easy for the girl to spot.

Camila chuckled and crouched down to his height. "Hey, I may be tired but I know when something's up. I promise you that nothing is going to happen to me. You're stuck with me for life." Camila told the younger boy, looking directly into his eyes.

"You can't promise that. You're all I have left. I don't need to lose you too." Hiro said, looking down.

"And you won't. Trust me, I'll be around for a while." Camila said. Hiro looked up at his older sister before swiftly wrapping his arms around her neck. Camila smiled and hugged the boy back but not before kissing his cheek.

"Alright, as much as I love moments like these, this cafè isn't gonna run itself." Camila said, breaking the silence after a minute or two.
