Camila let out a long groan and she set the groceries on the counter before she carried herself over to a table and threw herself into a chair. The girl was exhausted.
She had been stressing over running the cafè. She had continuously run out of ingredients throughout the week because her order for the groceries had been messed up and she only ended up getting half of her order, forcing the girl to go out and spend her own money on everything else she needed. And she didn't have much money by the way. Her and Hiro spent nearly all of what they had for the funeral for Tadashi and Aunt Cass.
Camila eventually got up and began putting away the groceries. She couldn't wait to get some sleep. After she was done with the groceries, she walked up stairs and collapsed on the couch face down. Falling asleep after a few moments.
"Camila. Camila, wake up." The tired girl heard. Camila didn't open her eyes or even move for that matter as she asked, "Is the house on fire?"
"No?" Hiro confirmed. It however sounded more like a question than a confirmation.
"Are you hurt?" Camila questioned again, still not opening her eyes. The only thing that the girl was moving was her lips. "No." Hiro said. The boy was still confused but didn't ask her why she was questioning him.
"Then why are you waking me up?" Camila asked. Hiro rolled his eyes, remembering the girls love for sleep. "I feel bad for going off on you. You know, it's Friday." Hiro says, smirking. That's when Camila's eyes snapped open.
"No no no no no no no no no no no." Camila said standing up. "You know how I feel about bot fights now." Camila told the boy.
After Tadashi's and Aunt Cass' deaths, she swore to herself that she'd never go bot fighting. She even made a promise to herself that she'd never let Hiro go either. They both hated them so much, she figured it'd make them happy if she never went again. The girl knew that they'd both be watching her and Hiro up above and she didn't want to disappoint them.
"Come on, it'll be fun. What's one time?" Hiro says, smiling a little bit. He held up the girls bag and that's when she noticed he had it. It was a small, heart-shaped bag that had bat wings and some small lace details.
Camila bit the inside of her cheek, thinking as she stared at the bag. They could really use the money. But she told herself that she'd never go bot fighting again after Tadashi's and Aunt Cass' deaths. She looked up at Hiro, seeing his hopeful look. She rolled her eyes, giving into the boy as she grabbed her bag. "Fine." Hiro smiled.
They dressed in all black, packed each of their own bags with clothes to change into, and brought some money. They also, of course, threw their bots and controllers into their bags. Once they were done they left to a fight.
Camila and Hiro laughed after Hiro had re-made a guys facial expression once they had beat him as they were walking to the diner they always went to once they were done bot fighting.
The guys face was priceless! During the short period of time that Camila and Hiro weren't fighting he and his partner had become champion. He didn't know how strong the duo was and thought they were weak. That was until Camila and Hiro destroyed their bots and left them with pieces. The guys partner was a bit baffled and sad as well but he was more angry then anything. The pair had already stopped and changed their clothes. Camila knew how dangerous the streets were so once they started bot fighting together, she made the boy hide his identity and bring extra clothes so they could change and be themselves.
The pair walked into the diner and quickly ordered some food before sitting down at a booth.
"This was totally worth getting up." Camila giggled. "Camila, I'm sorry for yelling at you the other day." Hiro apologized. Camila smiled before saying, "Don't worry about it. I know how you are. Plus you're young and are having mood swings. Diagnosis...puberty." The girl acted like Baymax casing Hiro to cringe. His cringing made Camila laugh. They soon got their food and continued talking while cracking loads of jokes.
It seemed like the first time in forever that they had been able to feel the emotion that is happiness. In reality it had been a few weeks but to them, it seemed like years. Centuries almost. They were able to smile and laugh without a care in the world. They forgot about the current sad events and just had a good time. It was like old times.
Once the clock hit 2:00 AM, the duo started heading back to the cafè. They were starting to get very tired and they both barely had the energy to walk back.
After thirty minutes of walking, they got back to the cafè and walked up the first flight of stairs. "Umm, Camila? C-can you sleep with me again?" Hiro asked. The girl smiled before replying with, "Of course. Let me just change." Hiro nodded and walked up the second stair case while Camila grabbed some clothes from her bag and walking into the bathroom. She pealed off her clothes and changed into her pajamas that she was wearing before they went out.
Once Camila was down changing, she hopped up the second flight of stairs and walked to Hiro's room. She knocked on the door, hearing a small "come in" before opening the big, wooden rectangle called a door. She was greeted with Hiro laying on his bed. They gave each other short smiles before Camila walked over and joined the her brother in his bed. She wrapped her arms around him and pulled him close, cuddling with the small boy.
"Tonight was fun." Camila commented. She felt Hiro nod in agreement. She giggled as his poofy hair tickled her chin. She flattened his hair with her hand and smiled down at Hiro. His eyes were already closed but she knew he wasn't sleeping just yet due to his breathing pattern. "I love you." Camila told him. "I love....you too....." Hiro responded, drifting asleep. Camila smiled more and kissed his cheek before laying her head on the soft pillow and closing her eyes, falling asleep herself after a few seconds.
