Lorna sat there on the phone, and murmured. "I understand... I... I'll come," she hung up and released a shuddering breath. "Ok, let's go."

Lorna arrived at the home, a rich penthouse home in New York, and looked up, to think she passed her mother nearly a thousand times as she went about ruining lives.
Lorna swallowed heavily with nervousness, she hadn't told anyone she was doing this, not even Mick, she just told him, she would be back soon she just had a business, and would be back soon.

Lorna knocked on the door and a nurse opened. "Mrs Barvian?"
Lorna nodded. "Yes, I'm here to see Brittany."
"Of course," the nurse nodded and led her inside. "She's expecting you."
Lorna scoffed. "Of course she is."

The nurse looked at her uncertain, then led her to a woman who was lounging on the couch, wrapped in a silk dressing grown, her hair dyed brown to hide the grey hair, and Brittany Cook Haight looked like she was a million dollars and still the young woman who would go dance in bars.

"Hello Mother," Lorna sneered.
"Lorna?" Brittany asked in surprise, looking at her.
"Yes, your dear little Lorna all grown up," she chuckled bitterly. "Don't I look fabulous?"
"You're definitely... grown up," Brittany nodded softly, almost jealous of her daughter's beauty.
Lorna scoffed. "Yeah right, so why did you look for me? Or even want to see me?"

Brittany swallowed and straightened out her dressing gown. "Well I thought, you know, get to know each other again... be like we used to be."

"Like we used to be?!" Lorna cried out, snarling at the older woman. "You threw me out onto the street! I can still quote what you told me when I begged you to keep me! I can not have a monster for a daughter, that's what you told me!" Lorna yelled at her, pointing an accusing finger at her. "Then you shut the door on me! Oh Roch, you have no idea how many times I nearly died of starvation, dehydration, and the cold or the heat! Did you ever think of me?!"

Brittany went to reply. "Of cour..." but she stopped and looked down.
"No, of course you didn't," Lorna sneered. "You found a rich husband, and look at you now, a Queen of Industry, and you just wanted someone to notice, the daughter you despise! I have a life too Brittany, and I bet, in twenty four hours I can tear down your world, and you'll know what it's like living on the streets!"

Brittany looked at Lorna with horror and maybe fear. "I-I..."
"No! I don't want to hear anymore!" Lorna snarled and turned walking towards the door. "I hope you can run fast enough."

Lorna soon returned home, cheeks tear stained, her face splotchy with crying, then she bumped into you. "Sorry..." then walked past and up towards her room.

You?
