"Thank you for saving me back there." I say to Connor after a long silence. "You're welcome. Besides, I can say the same to you." He tells me. "Don't mention it."

"We could have caught them. Why did you let them go?" Connor asks. "Look, I'll explain it later to you and Hank. Let's just forget it!" "What am I going to report to CyberLife? They'll shut me down if I don't solve this case!" He says and I hear his fans going louder than usual. "It's gonna be ok!" I say squeezing his hand.

We walk a little more and we reach my car, where Hank is standing. When he sees us, he starts jogging in our direction and hugs me tight. "What the fuck were you thinking? You could've got yourself killed! Never do that again!" He yells at me and then turns to Connor, stil holding me. "Same to you, now come here!" Connor looks confused and I gesture for him to come closer. When he is close enough, i grab his arm and pull him into a group hug.

"Enough with the fluff, now let's eat something, I'm starving!" Hank says walking over to my car, opening it. What the hell, how does he have my key- Sneaky bastard, took them from my pocket when we were hugging.

I get in the passenger's seat and Connor in the back. Hank drives to Chicken Feed. He usually comes here for lunch. I often grab something from home, or buy something from the vending machine, or go to the nearest McDonald's, or eat some of Hank's food while he's not looking or don't eat at all.

We get out of the car and Hank goes to his friend Gary that works there and some guy, Pedro I believe. He's gambling again...

Connor and I go over there as the Pedro guy leaves and I order a (whatever sandwich you usually order at a fast food place), some fries and a (soda/bottle of water). We grab our food and head over to a table.

I push my food container so that it's sat between me and Connor, and he eats a fry. Hank looks confused, but doesn't say anything about me giving food to an android.

As we eat, Connor decides to speak. "This Pedro... He was proposing ilegal gambling, am I right?" "Yeah." Hank answers nodding his head. "And you made a bet?" He asks. "Yeah." Hank repeats himself. "I told him to stop, but there isn't much I can do about it." I say.

"(Y/n), you told me you'd explain why you let the AX400 go." Connor tells me. "Right! It was just self defense! The dad was abusing the girl and the android. The android was just protecting the little girl." "How do you know that?" Connor asks. "I saw some drawings in the girl's room. I know it sounds stupid but you have to trust me!" I say.

"And what about what the dad said?" Hank asks. "Oh, come on, did you see the guy's face? He's a bad liar and a drug addict. He's lucky that I didn't have solid evidence to arrest him." I say and start eating again.

"Is there anything you'd like to know about me?" Connor asks us. "Hell no. Well, yeah. Um...Why did they make you look so goofy and give you that weird voice?" Hank asks. Wait what? I open my mouth to say something but Connor beats me to it. "CyberLife androids are designed to work harmoniously with humans. Both my appearance and voice were specifically designed to facilitate my integration." He says. "Yeah, I did exactly that." I say. "Well, you fucked up." Hank states. Wait what?

My mouth is wide open at his sentence. "Well, I can say that I find him so handsome that you are probably gay by now." Wait what for the third time in five minutes.

I see Connor's cheeks go slightly blue. Is that how androids blush? Can they even do that? "T-thank you, (y/n). I must say that you are a... very beautiful woman yourself." He says. First blushing and now he's nervous?

We awkwardly look at each other and Hank starts laughing like I've never seen him before. Not even when I slipped on Sumo's poop and planted face first on the bathroom floor.

"Maybe I should tell you what we know about deviants?" Connor changes the subject. "You read my mind." "Y-yeah, sure!" Hank and I say at the same time. "Proceed!" Hank says. "We believe that a mutation occurs in the software of some androids , ehich can lead to them emulating a human emotion." That's bullshit. "In English, please!" Hank says. "They don't really feel emotions, they just get overwhelmed by irrational instructions, which can lead to unpredictable behaviour." "Emotions always screw everything up..." Yup. "Maybe androids aren't as different from us as we thought." Yeah I totally agree.

"You ever dealt with deviants before?" Hank asks Connor. I am totally left out on this conversation at this point. "A few months back... A deviant was threatening to jump off the roof with a little girl. I managed to save her." Of course you did. "So, I guess you've done all your homework, right? Know everything there is to know about me?" Hank asks. "I know you graduated top of your class. You made a name for yourself in several cases, and became the youngest lieutenant in Detroit. I also know you've received several disciplinary warnings in recent years, and you spent a lot of time in bars." Oh that was a rough part of life, more for me than Hank.

"So, what's your conclusion?" Hank asks. "I think working with an officer with personal issues is an added challenge, but adapting to human unpredictability is one of my features." Connor says, finishing it off with the smoothest wink I've ever seen in my life, holy fuck. If I still had food in my mouth, I'd probably choke to death.

I blink a few times and decide to speak. "That was brilliant!" "Yeah, I'd say that came out pretty well." Connor says looking at me, smirking.

"Let's go, lovebirds, I wanna sleep." Hank says grabbing both of us by the shoulders and dragging us to the car. I get into the driver's seat, Connor in the passenger's and Hank in the back.

I drop Hank off at his house. Connor said he has to run some test at CyberLife later so I offer to give him a ride. "Thank you. For... that compliment back there." "You don't need to thank me. What I said was true." I feel myself brushing this time. "I was wondering if I can still come to your house tomorrow after work?" He asks me. "Yes, of course you can!" I say a little to eager. "And I would like to try cooking something if that's all right with you. I'd love to experience new things." "Yeah, we'll make something together." I say. "No, I'd like to cook by myself. And then we'll eat together. Of course if that is fine with you!" He says. "Yeah, of course!" I say. "And don't worry, I'll clean everything up." He chuckles and I join him.

The car comes to a stop at the CyberLife tower and Connor openes the door. "I really look forward to tomorrow." He says. "Me too!" I say smiling. "Goodbye, (y/n)." "Bye, Connor." I say and he gets out and closes the door.

I look at him as he walks and he turns around, now walking backwards and winks at me. Oh shit. Also what is up with him winking? It's the second time in an hour. He turns around again so that he's walking forward and I start the car and drive off to my house.
