~Saturday ~
I enter the station and go to my desk. Hank and Connor aren't here yet, maybe because it's 7:20 in the morning. I couldn't sleep at all last night. All kinds of things were flooding my mind.
What happened to Kara and Alice? Kara and Carlos' android were both abused, that could be the reason they became deviants. Then that phrase came back. "The truth is inside". What does that mean? Maybe that the truth is in our own hearts? Maybe androids don't just emulate emotions but feel them, from the inside? Is that what rA9 insinuates? And what is up with Connor winking?
That reminded me about him coming over today. Is it like a date? I don't think so. He said we'll eat together... What will he cook? Is the house clean? I can't remember. Oh, yeah, I cleaned up last night.
I am dragged into the real world by Hank, who puts a hand on my shoulder. "Hmm?" I ask rubbing my eyes. Is it 8:00 AM already? "Wooooah, what happened to your face? You look like you haven't slept in decades!" Hank says. "Yeah, good morning to you, too!" I say yawning.
I look behind him and see Connor. He offers me an apologetic smile. "Good morning, (y/n)." He tells me. "Mornin'" I reply yawning again.
Connor's LED suddenly turns yellow and he blinks a couple of times. "What is it?" I ask. "I just got a report of a suspected deviant. We should go have a look!" He says. "All right, I drive!" Hank says.

As we wait for the elevator to stop and I try not to fall asleep, I notice that Connor's LED is yellow and his eyes are closed. He looks like he's sleeping. He's probably reporting to CyberLife. I wish I could sleep with my eyes closed. I mean I wish I could stand with my eyes closed. I mean I wish I could sleep while standing, yeah, that's what I meant. God damn it 24+ hours without sleep.
The elevator eventually comes to a halt and Hank and I step out of it, while Connor doesn't move. "Hey, Connor!" Hank says loudly, startling me. The android immediately opens his eyes. "You ran outta batteries or what?" Hank asks. "I'm sorry! I was making a report to CyberLife." He says. "Uh... Well, do you plan on staying in the elevator?" Hank asks him. "No! I'm coming!" Connor says and then exits the elevator.
"What do we know about this guy?" I ask with a yawn. "Nothing much. Just that a neighbor reported that he heard strange noises coming from this floor. Nobody's supposed to be living here, but the neighbor said he saw a man hiding a LED under his cap." Connor answers me as we walk past a pile of feathers and reach a door.
"Oh Christ, if we have to investigate everytime someone hears a strange noise, we're gonna need more cops." Hank whines as he leans on the door frame.
"Hey, were you really makin' a report back there in the elevator? Just by closing your eyes?" Hank asks Connor. "Correct!" He answers. "Shit... I wish I could do that." Hank says and Connor stands in front of the door.
He knocks thrice and no one answers. What a shocker... He looks at Hank but he just shrugs. He knocks again and gets the same result. "Anybody home? Open up! Detroit Police!" He shouts.
"I got this." I say lazily with my eyes half closed and they move asside. I kick open the door with my leg, gun in hand. I take a few steps and don't see anyone. I nod my head to the two men and they come inside as well.
I body slam the first door to the right and enter, as Hank cautiously opens the one to the left. I just wanna go home.
I look to my left and see some kind of maze on the wall. There was one in the hallway too.
