The bird flew Odette up to the top of the snow-covered tower and roughly dropped her. She grunted at the impact and went skidding across the surface. She quickly recovered as the bird thumped down behind her. Odette's eyes widened in alarm as it sets its beady sights on her. Quickly scrambling up she darted for some type of cover but the bird was faster and pinned the girl underneath its talons. Odette struggled to get her coat out from under the talons but to no avail. Thinking quickly, she shimmied out of her coat and slipped through the space between the talons, ignoring the nip of the cold. She quickly skirted out of view as the bird leaned down to swallow the now empty coat. Realizing she was not inside the bird spat out the cloth and began searching and scraping the ground for her. Darting off to the side while the creature was distracted, Odette spotted a small ice tunnel and dove into it without second thought. She looked out one of the holes to watch the movements of the bird before pressing herself farther against the walls. Amara leaned her head back in frustration; now to find a way out.
...
Down on the ship Sinbad was lacing daggers to the bottom of his boots, making makeshift climbing gear so he could go after her.
"Rat, don't let the blocks freeze." Sinbad ordered once he had finished.
"And Cale....give me a hug?" Sinbad asked innocently.
Cale choked in confusion and started backing up.
"Excuse me?" Cale stuttered in bewilderment as his captain wrapped his arms around the big man.
However, his true intent was revealed when Sinbad stepped back, holding up the twin daggers Cale kept on the back of his belt. The man rolled his eyes at Sinbad's smug expression. Without another word Sinbad popped up a round sled and darted to the front of the ship, strapping it to his back. He kicked a small lever, which lifted up a harpoon that they kept hidden there and pulled the device sideways to aim the hooks at the top of the cliff that Odette had disappeared off to. He shook his head, tying off the ropes around his waist. The things he did for this woman.
With a sharp whistle, he signaled for Spike to join him. The dog happily bounded over and pulled down on the bone lever that released the harpoon. Sinbad followed the length of rope as it ran after the spear. Just as the last of it was about to yank him upwards, he leapt off the front of the boat, giving him a little more momentum. Flying through the air he watched as the original spear made its mark in the cliff. As he came closer he whipped out his stolen weapons and used them to dig into the side, along with the ones on his boots. Sinbad groaned miserably as his body collided with the solid rock under a small layer of snow. He growled as he shook of the snow covering his face. With determination, he began the slow climb up the side of the cliff, digging his daggers into the wall to pull himself upward.
"Marina didn't see the bird? Everyone saw it. Hell, even Odette did and she still got in the way." Sinbad muttered sourly.
"Its as big as the freaking ship." Sinbad added with a growl.
If Marina had seen the dumb bird then Odette wouldn't have darted after her and gotten grabbed.
"But no, she was busy looking the other way." Sinbad added, muttering to himself as he climbed.
"And Odette....not a damsel in distress my ass." Sinbad mutters.
...
At the top, the bird was still furiously searching the snow and rocks for Odette who was still hiding in the tunnel tentatively peaking around the side to get a better idea of where the bird was.
Odette let out a muffled yelp as a gloved hand covered her mouth and pulled her backwards. As a reflex, she swung at the person, earning a muffled yelp. Turning to see who she struck her eyes widened to spot Sinbad who was now holding his nose in pain.
