Odette's eyes widened as a dark woman, her black hair and purple dress flowing around her, burst through the sand film.
"Bravo, no mortal has ever made it to Tartarus before." Eris hummed.
"Alive that is." Eris snickered at her own joke. With a snap of her fingers the skeleton was turned into dust which blew away, leaving the seat empty for her to flow onto in a whip of colors.
"Make yourself at home." Eris hummed, eyeing them with a predatory look in her yellow eyes.
Sinbad chuckled nervously. Odette was stunned into silence at seeing the goddess, so she merely grasped onto his bicep as she stood slightly behind him.
"Uh...thank you...nice place you got here." Sinbad conversed uncomfortably.
"Like it? I plan on doing the whole world this way?" Eris hissed, suddenly appearing closer to them in the blink of an eye.
Their eyes widened in alarm. Sinbad grinned tightly.
"Wow...that's a good plan." Sinbad told her, with a stiff nod. Odette eyed him incredulously.
"Well I see you're busy so we'll just take the book of peace and get out of your way." Sinbad suggested, with a casual shrug.
Eris chuckled.
"What makes you think I have it?" Eris questioned innocently.
"Well you set me up for the theft, so they could execute me." Sinbad pointed out wryly.
"You?" Eris asked.
"Yea." Sinbad agreed pointedly.
However, Eris shot Sinbad a knowing grin. Sinbad's smirk faltered as he realized the actual plan. Odette gasped silently, figuring it out right along with him.
"No....Proteus....you knew he would take Sinbad's place." Odette spoke up.
"What a clever little mortal you are." Sinbad cooed demeaningly.
Odette glared, not appreciating her tone. In a bored manor Eris traced her finger along a pillar, creating giant cracks all along it, causing it to star crumbling.
"You thought I would run....then Proteus would die...and Syracuse would be left..." Sinbad realized.
"Left without the next rightful king and tumble into glorious chaos." Eris hummed delightedly, ignoring the loud crumbling of rock pillars behind her.
"But what about me? If Proteus dies I'm next in line." Odette pointed out.
Eris laughed, sending a chill down Odette's spine.
"You wouldn't last long enough little one. We both know you would have bolted after your sailor once the going got tough." Eris taunted.
Odette snarled at the woman, her ears burning in embarrassment. The last comment caught Sinbad's attention. Her sailor? Did she already have someone else? It would explain her reluctance to him making a move earlier.
"You humans are so predictable." Eris sneered, enjoying how she toyed with the mortal's emotions.
"Proteus couldn't help being ever so noble and you couldn't help betraying him." Eris hissed, pressing her hands against Sinbad's chest. Sinbad straightened and glared at her in offense.
"But I didn't betray Proteus, and I didn't run away." Sinbad protested adamantly.
"Oh but you did betray him, you stole his little sister. Despite his warnings not to develop feelings for her all those years ago." Sinbad glanced to Odette guiltily.
Odette just stared in curiosity. That explained a lot as Proteus was very protective over Odette.
"Look at her Sinbad." Eris ordered, shoving Odette into his chest.
Sinbad quickly caught Odette.
"He's not even in his grave yet and you're moving in on his sister." Eris hissed.
Sinbad swallowed staring down at the woman in his arms intently, conflicted with all his emotions. He had promised Proteus he would stay away from his sister, as he was a notorious womanizer. And here he was breaking that promise while his best friend was prepared to die for him.
"Face it, you're heart is as black as mine." Eris taunted, leaning in towards him.
Odette glared, spurred by the hurt emotion on Sinbad's face.
"You're wrong about him." Odette shot back protectively.
"He knows I'm not." Eris insisted, staring at Odette curiously.
"You don't know what's in his heart." Odette growled.
Sinbad watched Odette in shock as she came to his defense so vehemently.
"Oh yes I do, and more importantly....so does he." Eris countered smugly.
Tossing Odette off to the side she made her way towards Sinbad once more.
"In your heart you know Proteus is going to die, because he saw something in you that just wasn't there." Eris circled him like prey as she whispered in his ear, ending her speech with a thump on his head.
"No." Sinbad insisted, glaring at her defiantly.
Sinbad wasn't that kind of person.
"You wanna bet?" Erik asks.
