we danced in the sheets

my first solo in Los Angels

We recently moved our dance studio from New York to Los Angels, we all decided as a group it would logically be the right choice even though we would all miss New York because it was our home. We have been here for 6 months now and have been doing a lot of shows, and all the girls are super exited every night because the crowds keep getting bigger , and don't get me wrong I'm super exited too but I have a lot of stress. Especially before shows, because the company is mine and if the company looks bad I look bad. So every 2 weeks while working on our next show while I make the dances I have to make sure the venue are all good so it's a lot of stress. But we all work on the dance together so we always pull it off. Not to mention I as well have to preform with them, but I love dance, if I didn't I wouldn't dance. And unless I don't feel the dance is 100% the best it could be I don't preform it because if it's not the best I have to watch it from the audience's prospective. In the past 6 months 4 of my girls have been offered acting jobs so they went off and I'm super proud so every time one of them leaves I already have a list of girls who I know are good and wanna join the team. So when it's time I call them and they come down to live here with us.I have these names because every year I have auditions in December, which I currently don't have to worry about because it's only July and I typically don't start planning them till October. And I always have 16 girls on the team so our routines can look good.

Tonight is Friday and we went through our normal routine, we all meet at the studio at 6:00 in the morning no later than 6:30. Because we need to do makeup for the groups and the solos go through the dances fix small things if needed to and I need them well feed so they have energy for the show. Then their hair and we make sure we can do all this quickly and find ways to minimize time. Then we go look at the venue and set up cameras and lights so we can watch the dance the next day we have class. We also practiced on the stage to make sure we had space and where to star of and mark mental points of where to stand and go. Then they did all the dances on the stage and I watched then I did the ones I was in. And today I had a solo, which I haven't had in a while so I was a bit nervous but the team brought flowers and when was done they threw them, oh how much I love my team we all had a group hug and the show was going to start in an hour and a half so I started opening the gates.

All of my dancers evenly spread around the doors to greet the guest and give them a brochure with all the dances songs, dancers name and information, and how to contact me if you want to go to auditions in December.

While I was doing last touches with lights, curtains, props and the backstage place where the girls get ready one of my 15 year old dancers names Natalia came up to me with the biggest smile on her face and she was jumping around and I thought her boyfriend flew in town and so I asked her what was up. She said a really famous actor from marvel is here and his name is Tom Holland, I was real happy and when she left and told the rest of the girls I had to think. Because honestly I didn't know who in the world he was I really couldn't think, especially with all the stress so I just focused on what was important with makeup outfits and everything else.

So it came time for the show and I went out on stage and talked about what are program is for and if you here to get new actors I assure you won't be disappointed and if you want to contact me or one of the dancers to use the brochure whenever they please and to enjoy the show.

As our show went on I was very pleased with the girls, and my solo was last and it was in two dances and one of my older dances came to see me because her younger sister who is on the team told her about my solo and wanted to introduce my dance. I of course said yes because I had her in my first group of girls 3 years ago and now she is 18 and really out there, she makes me so proud. When she introduced my dance she went on about how I changed her life and what not and I haven't done a solo in a while and none of this would possible without me. I started to tear up not gonna lie and if I weren't going to preform I would be crying but I cant cry during a performance.

After the dance I got a standing ovation and all the girls came on stage and we all bowed, I was super proud of what I've done with the company in 3 and a half years. I looked around at all the people there and it never hit me like that before. I got the mike and thanked everyone for coming and hoped they enjoyed the show. We all were super proud and they all went home, but I needed to stay to pack up everything and as soon as I put everything in the truck to take back to the studio I turned off all the lights and just sat on the stage. I was so proud of myself and couldn't forget the feeling I had with all the girls on stage, and I don't think I ever will. As I was in my thoughts some guy was sat in a chair and said something but he had an English accent so I was confused.

"It was a great show you had"

"Thank you, and you don't mind me asking what are yous till doing here after hours?"

"Looking for you love," he reached his hand out so I could shake his hand "hi my name is Tom Holland and I'm very interested in you."

"Oh no, I'm not available but any of my other girls are great trust me." As I started to walk away he asked if I needed a ride home and I did because I was going to just take an uber to my apartment and that's what I said. But he kept insisting and I said okay just to get him off my back. Once we were at my house He just parked and looked over at me and we had a good conversation in the car, he was a nice guy really.

"Anyway, like I said I'm really interested in you."

"No, I have to take care of the company and the girls, and I've spent like 3 yea-" and then he kissed me, like ok um i barely know you but okay.

"Not like that love." he said as he held my cheek in on of his hands. "oh" was all I said, like really that's all I got, has it really been that long.

He kissed me again, but this time I kissed back back because it's been a while since I hadn't completely hated a guy. And it moved quickly, we ended up going into my apartment. And while in the elevator we made out the whole time and he pushed me against the wall and gripped onto my waist. I kept running my hands through hi s hair and once it was on my floor we just walked to my room like two normal people and when we got into my room it got real intense. And one thing led to another and you can guess what happened next.

We didn't have practice the next two days because it was the weekend after competition, but since i'm so used to waking up early I got up and took shower and just put on some sweatpants and a white t-shirt. But while making breakfast I wondered if this was gonna be a one time thing or actually something.
