chapter seven !

"I'm not entirely sure what to think." Mark said that night as he was in a group FaceTime with Youngjae, Baekhyun and Kyungsoo. He entered his room and closed the door.

As soon as he got home, his friends wanted to talk to him but he wasn't in the mood due to the events from earlier. Still, they insisted he should share his thoughts with them because they're worried that Jackson's out-of-control behavior might be affecting him.

"Well, I'll say what I think," Kyungsoo began. "He messed up right away after you reconciled, so leave him."

"If I leave, he's gonna go nuts or sad romantic."

"Yeah, and you know what I call that?" Youngjae said. "Manipulation."

Mark only scoffed at the word and laid down on his bed.

"You're crazy." he tells his best friend.

"No, Jackson's crazy." Baekhyun said. "And you too because you're still with him."

"Yes, he is out of control and I'm actually going to talk to him about it." Mark said. "But I don't get where the manipulation comes from. If anyone's manipulating, then it's me."

"You?" Kyungsoo raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah, me." Mark nodded. "I threaten to leave him so he can behave the way I want to."

"What the fuck?" Youngjae frowned. "You two are terrible. Just claim him as your boyfriend then."

"What?" Now Mark is confused. "Okay, I don't get you guys. Do you want me to be with Jackson or not?"

"No!" The three say.

"The point is if Jackson has to tug at your heartstrings in order to take him back, then that's manipulation." Youngjae continued. "And if he tries to, you have to stand your ground."

Mark sighed and understood what Youngjae meant, but he knows Jackson. At some point, he will give up because he couldn't stand being apart from him. 

"I'm not leaving him, guys," Mark tells them. "At least, not yet."

"Seriously?" Baekhyun said with disappointment. "Mark, your damn boyfriend almost fought someone at work today. I don't know what he has going on with that guy, but he really seemed pissed off. And I'm pretty sure without me, you would've been trapped in the battlefield."

"What is his deal with him either way?" Kyungsoo asked.

Not the question Mark was eager to answer.

"Mark." 

"I'm not sure." Mark shrugged. "Just a teammate that has been bothering him lately, I don't know."

"From basketball?" Baekhyun asked.

"Yeah."

"What did he do?" Youngjae asked.

"I told you, I don't know." Mark responded as he rubbed his eyes.

"Are they, like, rivals?" Baekhyun continued.
