Practice finally ended.

Jaebeom was just in the locker room as he finished up putting on warm clothes. As soon as he put his basketball shoes inside his athletic bag, he zipped it up and grabbed his backpack. He looked on the bench for his sweater but it wasn't there. He frowned and looked inside his locker. Empty.

Fuck. He probably left it in the gym. Jaebeom sighed and walked out of the locker room.

Today's practice was really busy so Jaebeom didn't have other chances to get closer to Mark. He knew it wouldn't be easy, but now that he was trying... it was a lot dificult than he thought it would be. Mark bumping into Jimin when he was there was an accident.

Guess this challenge is really a challenge. Was it too late to change his mind?

He opened the door to the gym. There were still a few students inside who were gathering their stuff before heading home. A janitor began to sweep the basketball court. Jaebeom hurried in and took a look around to find his sweater, spotting it on the bleachers. Well, thank God no one stole it. He quickly grabbed it and just before he leaves, he saw Mark making his way down the bleachers.

Okay. This is it. This was his chance to talk to him.

"Mark, hi." Jaebeom called out as he approached the older. "Just wanted to see if you were okay since you bumped into my friend earlier."

"I'm good, thank." Mark nodded. "I should be the one to say sorry."

"Don't be. He was the one walking backwards, so." Jaebeom said. "Why are you still here anyways?"

"I'm actually waiting for Jackson." Mark responded.

Yes, yes, that's great. Jaebeom tried to hold in a snarky comment about Jackson since it could pull a switch in Mark.

"Why are you waiting for him?" Jaebeom asked, knowing full well that was dumb as hell but he had no other thing to ask.

"Um, we're going to his house to do homework together and he gave me a ride, so." Mark answered. He withdrew his phone from his pocket to check the time. When the hell is Jackson coming? "How much time will Jackson take?"

"Not long, I think. I saw him talking to Namjoon and Sehun and they were almost done."

Mark looked at Jaebeom who was still standing there. It was weird he was still with him instead of leaving him alone. It interested him. Maybe he should continue the conversation. After all, he needs to take advantage of the time he has to wait for Jackson.

"Haven't seen you around much." Mark spoke, catching the younger's attention.

"Yeah, I just blend in the crowd." Jaebeom chuckled.

"You know, the times I've been here, you really stand out on the team."

"Really?"

Mark nodded. "Yeah. I'm not really someone who watches our school games that much, but you're actually really good." He praised him with a smile.

"Ha, thanks." Jaebeom thanked him. And the silence came back again. "I've been wishing to go to varsity. Next year is my only hope."

"Oh, you're also a third-year?"
