Above our heads was the ultimate V.I.P status lounges and booths for people who don't mind spending 100's of thousands of dollars on a club for one night. In the largest booth that took up the majority of the balcony stood the one and only Serpent. His hands dripped with blood from the glass bottle he broke and threw onto the dance floor. Specifically, the glass was aimed where I was dancing. Luckily it didn't hit me but I know it wasn't the Serpent's intention to hurt me but he wanted to send me a message. He is extremely mad at me and I didn't know what else to do. What did surprise me was who was by his side.
Chermaine.
When I made eye contact with the Serpent, he hinted for me to join him in his booth but I refused. First off, he must have forgotten that he tried to kill me and this innocent bystander because of jealousy or obsession like 30 seconds ago. Secondly, I made a promise to my dad to try to stay away from him. There is no excuse better than his anger to avoid him entirely.
"Oh Cazzo, Adrienne are you okay? I saw the glass shatter!" Gia gasped as she ran towards me.
"Yes I'm fine but I think it's time to go." Gia and the Italian hunk pouted instantly.
"Please stay. We barely got the chance to get to know each other..." Said the hunk. Lord, he is so cute but knowing the Serpent; this man will be dead in the next hour if I continue to dance with him.
"I'm sorry but I can't... here is my number if you would like to meet again." I reached inside my purse to write my number and gave it to the hunk. He smiled and accepted before walking off.
"Are you sure you want to leave? That guy was so cute!" Gia pleaded.
"Yes, I'm sure. If I don't then that glass bottle won't be the only thing getting crushed." I hugged Gia goodbye before exiting the club.
I waited outside the club for Bruno. Usually, Bruno follows me out of any room that I exit without me telling him so it was quite odd that he wasn't trailing behind me. I sent him a text after a few minutes in the cold and made my way towards the parking lot. Funny, our car wasn't parked in our designated spot either...it wasn't even in the lot!
"And where the fuck do you think you're going?" An angry slurred voice yelled from behind me.
I turned to see The Serpent standing ever so close to me. He wore a tight fitted navy blue suit and loafers. The white button up was ironically button down all the way to his navel; showcasing his luxuriously tempting abs and his long detailed serpent tattoo across his chest. He held a bar glass filled with bourbon in his hand as he analyzed me.
"I am going home Serpent. You can return back to Charmaine." I said politely. Serpent took a large gulp of his drink before throwing the empty glass on the ground. What is wrong with this man?
"I sent your bodyguard away. So unless you're going to wait for him, you're leaving with me."
The serpent didn't have authority over my father's men so I don't know how he managed to send Bruno away. He could be lying... but the scowl on his face told me otherwise.
"I'll take an uber then. I'm not going anywhere with you. You've been drinking and clearly not in the right mindset."
His fist clenched and unclenched multiple times before stepping closer. Every step closer was a step taken back. It was the cat and mouse game until he had my back pressed against a Bently. He never touched me. As I leaned my back against the cool metal, The Serpent examined me heavily with his lustful eyes. Slowly he placed each hand on either side of my head and smiled. A sadistic smile no less. I kept my breathing even and my heart rate slow. I am the daughter of Sinister and his crazy batshit wife, there is no time to be a wuss.
"You're coming home with me. You could disobey me but then the blood of everyone in this club will be on your hands. I haven't touched my fun since I've arrived here and my finger has been itching to pull the trigger."
Of course, he would threaten me with the lives of innocent and close civilians. What a prince this man can be.
"I don't have time to watch you drink and party your life away. Forget about me and let me go home. Your business is with my father, not with me."
"If you would like to leave now, that can be arranged. I only came to see you. My business does involve you. Your father has kept you hidden from our world. Everyone assumed Charmaine was his daughter... yet here we are. I would like to know why your father went all this way to keep you a secret." He sobered up rather quickly, the slur I once heard was magically gone. His eyes were focused and slightly glazed.
"I am his daughter, he wants to protect me from people...Like you. I'm sorry to burst your bubble but I'm nothing special. Just his baby girl."
Serpent backed away so I could stand straight. He shot me a look of irritation before reaching into his back pocket for his iPhone. He typed quickly before pulling out his car keys.
"Your father is smart hiding you from people like me. Too bad he didn't hide you well enough. Let's go."
Serpent walked to the far corner of the parking lot where a matte black Porsche and 4 escalades were parked. I hesitated but climbed into the Porsche with Serpent. The smart voice in my head was screaming at the top of their lungs to stop and walk away! Why was I getting into the car with a drunk psychopath who is obsessed with me? My heart told me to walk away before you get attach and hurt by this heartless man across from me. The inner mafia inside me told me to take the risk. I've only now started to enjoy the perks of this dangerous sexy mafia world that we live in and it is time to take action. I decided to go with the inner mafia voice. Yet, the voice of my father was the last thing I heard before the engine roared and we set off to the open roads.
